I mean his looks, voice and behavior was more Megatron than Galvatron reborn. If he had covered his stomach hole with a decepticon logo, then that is the closest thing you have to Megatron in Bay's movie. If there is indeed a real reboot after AOE, then I hope they keep Galvatron's form and rename him to Megatron.

Uh..... Megatron and Galvatron are the same. Don't know why you would reverse him back to Megatron.

I think that's the point. This new writer knows that Megatron has been messed up and so the and so they used the lore to reboot character. They even brought in Frank Welker to reprise the role. Also, just look at what they did with him in the film; in his short time his presence was more akin to TF1. I got the feeling that Galvatron will be the Megatron we never got.

Look at his intention in the film which was also similar to his intention in the first film. Galvatron is second chance Megatron and I am so excited.

Yeah but instead to just slap a iconic name like Galvatron as a human made transformers, I hope the next director rename him to Megatron. And he should make a slight change on the stomach hole as I refered to in my first post.

Besides the fact that Galvatron is an evolved Transformer? It's his specs that made the human-made Transformers, remember, and human-made Transformers aren't Transformers made out of human resources, it's 100% Cybertronian. The whole point is that Transformers are made and humans can play God and make them too - better than they were. There was no flaw in the technology Plus, his body can do what other Cybertronians can't.

Plus, his hole destroyed Optimus's sword so it has its uses.

    Galvatron is a Megatron.

He's pretty much a soulless version with downloaded memory of the original, or as the movie puts it, carrying the 'essence' of Megatron.

I had no problems with this version, personally, although Welker is clearly 'just' doing his Prime Megatron voice. :)

This is a little off topic, but I wished Stinger survived. It would be cool to see Galvatron and Stinger recruits new decepticons in TF5.

Galvatron will be more of a problem than Megatron.
Megatron, Star Scream and even Sentinel Prime had a soul and morals. They did however compromise themselves with a thirst for power and allowing " the end to justify the means".
The transformers are more human than people are.

Stinger couldn't be allowed to survive. Rip off Bumblebee? He'll plant his foot so far up your tail pipe, you'll be sparking for days.

Not insane yet. He still has some essentially conflicting coding and programming in his head. If they follow it up there is very much a possibility he could go insane, and badly. Also Insane Galvatron vs PTSD Prime could make for something wicked if they do it right.

Can someone clear this up for me, I'm a bit confused. Has Megatron taken full control of Galvatron or is Galvatron having a "mind" of his own because he calls himself Galvatron even though he is Megatron? I don't know

I'm sure Megatron just got bored and figured, "I guess I'm Galvatron now, better start using the name since it's trademarked to me."

I honestly hope they keep to calling him Galvatron.

Cause that sounds cooler their Megatron, to me.

One has to note though that while Brains credits Megatron for creating the Galvatrons as new bodies for him they are also connected to Sentinel Prime's head.

Feels like some gag where Leonard Nimoy was Galvatron's original VA then in Season 3 Frank Welker took over.

There is also a gag where Galvatron was to be a version of Optimus Prime... Nemesis Prime?

I hope Galvatron keeps this name, for some reasons.

Like, if he change his name, people would become a bit confused and it wouldn't make sense. He is NOT Megatron after all. May look like Megatron from other incarnations, but not the movie-verse.
Galvatron is soulless, "better" than a Cybertronian in some aspects and isn't a Decepticon. Remember: all the best villains in the movies aren't Decepticons. Oh, I also would not like (not to say hate) to see another Megatron. They already ruined him enough.
