I’m all for a Blue Bacchus, but what mold would he even use? Springer maybe?

1. He was one of the transformers listed a while back, though I don't remember where.
2. Micron was a planet featured on the Transformers Victory show as well as Bacchus himself.

Me too. I am both excited and annoyed at the moment with Amazon though since I may have to cancel some of my orders... Arcee and Smokescreen just got charged as did my Marvel Legends Carnage and Morbius orders. Now, this was updated for this coming Friday though they haven't charged me yet... and I just saw that Sunstreaker and Trailbreaker look to be arriving early too along with Marvel Legends Kang and Falcon. Like most, I budget my preorders based on the month they are expected to come out and stuff like this just throws off my budget.

 

All of the Galactic Odyssey figures have been repaint/retools of existing figures, right? And all of them Autobots. Assuming that’s the trend, I’m predicting Headmaster Nightbeat or Minerva for Dominus retooled from the Chromedome mold. Maybe Sureshot could be retooled from Mirage and he’d either come with one of the Battlemaster guns repainted into Sureshot or the Sureshot figure that came packaged with Legends Twin Twist (more likely the former than the latter).

Everyone is saying stalker from doubledealer, but what about the original recolor/remold from the G1 doubledealer, doubleclouder he hasn’t been done since the 80s and if doubledealer is going to be recolored/remolded why not into doubleclouder?

 

Because thats like re-releasing Bumblebee in a slightly different shade of yellow and calling him Bumble.


The changes are not worthy of a second release. Repaint your own if you want Doubleclouder, and let us have something drastic enough it’s worth it’s own figure, like Stalker. Or, much better, Stalker’s repaint Machine Wars Soundwave, who the new Doubledealer mold was clearly design with in mind since he can store Cassettes in his chest, just like Soundwave.

 

Really that’s not drastic enough? It’s like taking Cliffjumper and coloring him white...oh wait that’s how we got bugbite.

 

No, thats like painting cliffjumper’s windows. The rest of the figure is otherwise the same. Doubleclouder has a white torso, duel colored missile, and different stickers. Thats it.

 

He also has lighter colors all around a chrome face, if you want something drastically different it’s the OG Stalker. Machine wars isn’t different enough either.

 

I’ll be honest with you pal, I’m am by technically, as completely colorblind you can get without it being black and white. And even I can tell the drastic differences between these two.

I think the best hope for Doubleclouder is Takara opting to do it and/or doing a Godmaster giftset with Buster and Hydra (themselves basically Darkwing and Dreadwind, but with red bits). Even that's complicated because, technically, a 'toon accurate Doubleclouder is Doubledealer anyways; Doubleclouder is a toy-only deco that wasn't used in the cartoon, unlike Buster and Hydra's decos.

"Worth" is subjective and I'm not about to dismiss Doubleclouder('s toy deco) as unworthy (swapping out gray for white and gold would help this mold pop more), but I do think Stalker or MW Soundwave are more likely re-uses from Hasbro's side of things. They're dramatically different and haven't been re-done either since their original toys.

 

I didn’t buy Doubledealer because what I only really want is the Doubleclouder toy deco; and yes, it’s a significant enough difference for some of us. If you don’t see it, that’s fine but that doesn’t mean you can’t mentally adjust to account for other people’s preferences, right?

However realistically speaking - especially in light of the brand unification (where Takara redeco’s seem to be a thing of the past) - we shouldn’t expect a Doubleclouder GS repaint, since for this particular character the US deco is already toon-accurate.

 

Springer would be perfect.

 

I doubt it would ever be done but for Blu Bacchus a figure/ mold similar to the Combiner Wars Cyclonus mold, just because a lot of the vehicle mold is on the back

 

This better come true because it’s always a good thing when obscure characters finally get their own figures
