I have the g2 sandstorm.

Do I need this?

I'm going to use mine as Slipstream. A Ramjet obsessed fan girl that desperately wants Ramjet to like her but she bugs the bearings off of him.

 

That's adorable! For me, maybe some kinda non-cannon fembot, but that TOTALLY works. Crap... now I think I might need more money.

 

I still think FunPub's looks better (they really went all out on that one) but even so this looks gorgeous and I can't wait to see it next to Sand Storm never mind with the original. I can't say I have a problem with the G1 insignias perse but seeing as they did go with them I wish they'd have replicated the unusual look of the originals (the way the top part doesn't follow the insignias contour but just sort of goes over it.)

 

I'm actually old enough to remember G1/2. I get that they did the "coneheads" to differentiate the mold. But I never liked it. Always looked mis-transformed to me. Like the cheaper knockoffs without good transformation.

As long as they went the route of not including the whole nosecone, they should have done something different. Make the "cone" more like a medieval helmet.

Amazon UK have him for £37 original price for this guy was around £30-£32. So it's a fair bit more then RRP but if you guys want it now it's there.

 

honestly good. Hasbro put out a statement years ago about moving away from plastic they did actually use string for a bit but now they've gone back to plastic tie's. So seeing string back is great (even if maybe a token gesture)

 

I love all the G2 affection lately.

Is it just my age (memory and eyes) though, or are the colors not quite as eye meltingly, chessily neon as I remember in the early 90s? I remember a certain level of "super soaker orange and ghostbusters slime neon green" to things in G2 that just never quite pops as much in modern G2 color schemes.

Something similar always happens with G1 Devastator remakes. The purple and green on newer releases are never quite how I remember them being in the 80s. But then again, memory and age are funny things, and far from accurate barometers.  

Either way I want this. And all the other G2 offerings.

All these on here talking about Sandstorm.... did he ever come out? Like is his release done and dusted?

Yep. I’ll be slapping G2 Repros on it as soon as I open it. I’ve consistently done that with my G2 chug updates (Jazz, Sideswipe, Clench, Dreadwing, the Combaticons etc), despite the original toys still having G1 symbols. It just feels right that way!

 

I didn't think about the Ramjet on his nose cone, but I'm still keeping him as bitstream. In my head Canon he's actually a geek who idolizes Ramjet for being so crazy and physical. Like a Ramjet Super Fan. His whole goal as a Seeker is to be able to work with Ramjet. And the funny thing is, because of his technical skills he's too valuable to the Decepticon cause for them to actually let him work with that guy

 

Yeah, it's annoying that it's tricky getting hold of the original Coneheads, and Hasbro doesn't seem to be interested in making them more easily available.

Apart from that, I hope we get some interesting redecos of DIrge and Thrust, and the regular Earthrise Seekers.

 

I'd like this to be Shattered Glass Ramjet.
