Ive been working on this guy for a couple of months now, he's nearly finished i've got some chroming on the trailer to do and i'll upload a full gallery. Thought id tease you for now though. Hope you like it!
It doesnt scratch it at all. I had to cut some plastic off of his shoulders so they clear the chrome air tanks mounted on the cab and you have to still be careful when transforming those sections but other than that theres no rubbing or scratching anywhere else. That was my number 1 priority when i started work on this so hopefully whoever buys it will get years of chip-free enjoyment from it. Fully customized trailer coming soon!
Everything was painted by you or did you used the movie KO as base? either way, its looking very cool!
wow, chip free custom! now that's nice. one comment though, i think the colors you used are a little bright.
Well...in reality nothing is "chip proof", its physically impossible. Anything that has paint on it can chip. There is chip "resistant" though and i did my best to make sure this was as resistant as possible. Anything can chip if you try hard enough though.
Makes a nice change to see an older toy given a movie style paintjob instead of vice versa. I look forward to seeing pics of the fully finished piece complete with trailer.

awesome paint scheme for an awesome figure. I wanted to get R.I.D. scourge years ago but never had the money. this looks like an awesome update. not to flashy and looks great. gonna do any weathering in robot mode?
The knock off doesnt have chrome, hand painted flames, fully detailed and airbrushed robot mode and fully customized trailer either.
Trailer update/preview Im just giving the clear time to fully cure then im gonna put it back together. Should be finished by the end of the week hopefully.
The only critique I could offer is that the tanker needed more darks to blend better with the cab. There's heavy blue on the cab, but mainly yellow and orange on the tanker. Otherwise, the flames and colors are excellent.
