Manta Ray is a creation from PCC Heavytread's head and PCC Undertow. wanted him for my collection and motivated to do it by the sector 70 contest which was really fun. The bot pics with the green chest is more reminicent of his toy colors and design. The bot pics with the yellow chest looks more like the old school comic version. Of course I had to include a pic of him with hero Grimlock Bot pic with green chest Bot pic with Yellow Chest Alt Mode

Thanks for the complimants guys. I hope they end up release this mold somewhere. I am thinking of modifying the head now that the contest is over to make it look more like the original head.
Great job, recently I acquired this mold and tought it would make an excellent looking update of Manta Ray, one of my all time favorites as a child, I wish I hadn't sold the old G2 figure I had even if he had lost his gun. Had I an inkling of know-how I'd try my hand at getting this custom repaint started, my vision however would include some sort of attachable piece using the Mini-Con peg hole to create a replication of his rotor force weapon/look. I'm just not sure how to start it, un-pinning all of those pins could proove difficult, especially since I don't want to ruin the figure, as I can get some cheap duplicates in my area right now. Perhaps I should start smaller with my first customizing project and work my way up to it. What would you reccomend? I'm not so sure those gattling cannons work well for this character either, I was thinking of removing them and replacing them with some sort of scratch-built larger fin pieces to better reflect the original molds large blue fins on the back of the boat. But what to do with the gattling cannons once they're removied? If only I had some kind of knack for art I could make blueprints to see if my modifications would work. Anyway, cool repaint, how did you get the head swap to work? Undertow doesn't have a ball jointed socket head like Heavy Tread does.
