    Has anyone else experienced bad quality with the Walmart G1 reissues? My Starscream has a small paint chip on the red die cast and my Walmart Optimus Prime has lower quality chrome application than my Encore reissue. The Soundwaves appear to be of subpar quality across the board, particularly with the hip joints.

    You would think, with Wal*Mart charging $50+ for these reissues that they would be top quality.

    I don't have the bigger reissues, but so far my Bumblebee and Casetticons seem to be alright.

    @Wheeljack1984 Right?

    The only disappointment I've come across is the pre-applied stickers on Soundwave. The ones on his legs want to peel. Everything else has been great. I think there's a tendency to look back on older releases of figures with rose-colored glasses...you didn't notice a tiny paint chip on your Starscream because you were 7 years old and, most likely, you would have thought you made that scratch yourself anyway. Honestly, this Optimus Prime is a superior toy to all reissues before it since New Year's Convoy. Everything clicks and holds together tighter than any of the other ones released these past two decades AND he has the long stacks. Just missing that dang trailer...

    The only one that I had an issue with was red frumble, his head was detached from the spring.

    The transformation doesn't help. I bought the 2003 reissue. While he's still in good shape, whenever I transform him I wonder is this the day it finally breaks?

    Given that Bumblebee uses the cartoon accurate head sculpt, it's a shame Optimus didn't use his Device Label head sculpt.

    Be nice to see a few repaints especially Bugbite.

    I don't have any experience with older Soundwave releases but on the Wal-Mart reissue I did notice alot of plastic flash around the sliders for the fists and the decals are pure crap and some are already coming off.

    Also my Warpath had loose arms and Bumblebee had loose legs where the legs would slide out.

    Overall I've had okay luck with them. Soundwave's stickers are crap, so I replaced them with a set from Reprolabels. Ravage had a crack in the joint for his tail, but some super glue fixed that. Optimus' tires are cracking a bit, but again, some clear glue has stopped that from spreading (Loctite GO2. Awesome stuff!)

    Mine had the same issue. I'd press the leg stickers down and within 10 minutes they'd pop right back up. Not sure if it's just bad glue or oils/mold release that wasn't cleaned off properly at the factory, but I took a hair dryer to them for a moment to re-activate the adhesive and they've stayed down ever since. I had to use the same trick to re-set some poorly applied stickers on the cassettes too. Yeah, for 50 bucks I'd expect to not have to do that.

    I only have experience with the Walmart Optimus. I think the bumper/ gas tank sprue marks you cant escape. Though mine does'nt look as noticeable, they're there. I've seen several review videos and every copy in those reviews have those sprue marks. That said, the chrome is still amazing, thats just the way this new tooling is seemingly manufactured. I still love this new edition of G1 Prime.

    My poor Astrotrain has a loose leg that will slide down like he's been well loved. One of these days I'm going to take that leg off and see if I can fix it. But I just can't figure out an easy way to just take the leg off without taking most of him apart.

    Scotch tape can work wonders on Transformers with bad legs. My first Transformer in 1984 was Huffer. He had bad legs from the start and after a short while, his legs kept collapsing on themselves. Did this stop 7-year old me from playing with him anyway? Nope.

    After 36 years, I ended up taking the legs apart and bolstered the plastic inside.

    He now stands properly with strong legs up on my shelf.
