I thought from the title it'd be a whole mess of pieces (which I was thinking... Why), but just a nice G2 head for $10 to $13 I'd be down for.

Any word on approx cost or manufacturer? If it's GT I can probably get it....

So to summarize:
1x LED G1 styled head
1x LED chesplate w/ 3 color settings
2x knee upgrades (available in 3 color variants)
?x Electric drill
1x Set of Melee weapons

 

I wish the CW was built alittle more solid. It looks the most accurate

I wonder if the head integrates with Crane's alt mode, if at all.

 

Same. Also wondering about the knee extensions, since they have wheels. The main draw for me with GT is the integration of the combiner parts.

 

I'm mostly interested in the thigh extenders. I never had a problem with the default head and chest plate.

My ideal G1 upgrade would be an entirely new Bonecrusher whose shovel blade forms his chest instead of hanging off his arms...

 

The knee extensions exacerbate the mid-thigh bend that combiners have. Not a fan.

 

I just want the head and drills

This is actually an interesting release. The slightly larger head with the new thigh extenders look to add an additional 1-1.5" of height, which puts the combined mode of the original GT release closer to 16.5". It's not quite there in terms of matching the OS KO (around 17.8-18") but it gets the original release much closer to the OS scale market. Price aside, I guess customers now have the choice of supporting the original release and creating a combined mode that looks aesthetically superior, while being able to better integrate GB into the growing combiner scale market.

If, and based on the translation, it seems to be true, this includes the weapons that the Duron Drill version had for the individual bots, I am so there. Even if I never use the extensions or switch the head out, extra weapons for individual modes is great.

 

it makes you wonder if this is even for the GT and not the KOs of the GT.....

 

If they do this for the OS then I may have to get both.

 

Confirmed to be released by GT as GT-09.

This will be for the non-KO, original generation toy devy only. Jinbao may very well release a version of their own for their OS GT devy, but at this point who knows?
