The Heritage Museums and Gardens in Sandwich, Ma is currently running an exhibition called "Let's Play". It showcases the origins of toys and board games from New England, with many Hasbro properties present. I knew about it going in, but was shocked at how small the Unicron prototype was in person. Enjoy the pics! Let's Play
Some LOVELY pics of Unicron, Many Thanks! It looks here as if the arms are meant to slide up the rings & covering the flat sections to be closer the shoulders - anyone able to photoshop what that looks like?
A full two hour drive. Little too far to go see it. Bummer. Awesome that this is on display somewhere.
I really want to see a side-by-side shot of this figure next to HasLab Unicron or Studio Cell. Should be quite the contrast.
Saw this there last fall when visiting the Cape with my girlfriend and her family; I had no idea something like this would be in this tiny little museum in a botanical garden. I geeked out 100% and took so many pics, it was an awesome, unexpected find! Never thought I'd get to see such a legendary piece of Transformers history in a place like that. Definitely worth popping in to see if you're in the area! (and the gardens/car museum are nice, too)
If I'm seeing this correctly, the ring formed his arms...and used what would today be called "CW pegs" to connect to the shoulders. That's...pretty funny. I'd take a modern Unicron that could wear CW arms/legs. But then I'd buy anything with CW ports because combining one robot with another is my weakpoint.
Funny that the planet eater is in a town called Sandwich… Jokes aside, this is really neat. They even have the original Mr. Potato Heads!
Wouldn't a Haslab of G1 Unicron be kinda wild? It's such a fun and interesting looking tot for Unicron. Probably won't ever be a thing but I'd absolutely buy it.
I’d have to fly to the other side of the country to see it. Hey, he needs a side dish to go with Mrs. Pell’s fish sticks. (Skip ahead to 1:50)
For a split second, I seriously thought the thread title was "G1 Unicron is sitting on my Sandwich, Ma!"
