Hobby Ark posted this guy for preorder; they were the first to post G1 Prime and Soundwave a few weeks ago before BBTS did.

Makes sense I guess since the MP Magnus will be next year.

If that G1 Optimus reissue from 2008 is any indication, I'd say yes. But who knows? Sometimes, they'll make favorable tweaks between reissues.

Kids ain't got any smarter in the time since so I imagine it'll still be short-stacked in case dummies break the stacks off and eat the sharp bits.

I expect these kids to get dumber.

In 20 years, Transformers figures will be giant rubber balls with character faces painted on.

Yeah it's only been 10 years. Again. Too frequent for some.

If true, good news for those that want him.

That said, if it's the TRU version, I can handle the shorter smokestacks, but the ridiculously long missiles were not so fun to experience. One day I'd still like to track down some original, shorter missiles and/or launchers to replace the reissues with.

Easily one of the worst days at the studio for the box artist.

"That's cool that it looks just like the toy, we LOVE it, everyone here in Marketing loves it. Don't we? We LOVE it. But just a couple of things: can you make it look like it can move as well?"
"Like that arm should be going up, and the other one comes forward, somehow? Oh but we need to show the missiles so maybe they can come in a bit? No give them more perspective! And yeah, his legs, i mean, he can't move them, but can you make it look like he can move them but they're all one thing still? And maybe like his got his legs apart, but he's kind of moving one foot inside too? And make him look up! but he can't really move his head so don't make him look like he's really looking up? Yeah that's perfect! What? No I don't think it looks kind of shit now. Bill, do you think it looks shit now? Bill doesn't think it looks shit now, and he works with me in Marketing too. Great job Mike. Ship it! Sorry, I meant Matt."

A Powered Convoy reissue from Takara-Tomy would've been better.

I felt this way about the Powermaster Prime reissue - ironically, it's the Japanese version that has the short smokestacks to begin with!

I would love to have the inserts for Commemorative Ultra Magnus. If anyone is willing to part with them and/or inserts w/ box, keep me posted.
