    We all know what happened between Screamer and Skyfire but my question remains was he ever like a "Free Agent" and was convinced by another Decepticon to join the the Decepticon fleet, or was it a choice between Decepticons and Autobots. If he was with neither of them upon returning to Cybertron why didn't he join the Autobot army instead?

    He was never really depicted as a free agent, like neutral. Starscream has always been, in short, Starscream. Varying levels of loyalty, splinter factions within Decepticons, but not really neutral. and even that is in latter day comics - G1 as in marvel comics and the TV show, he was a D'con through and through.

    I'm pretty sure Starscream being the coward he is just joined the stronger team after losing Skyfire.
