In the UK some are charging the equivalent of $98 $87 for it.lol.

 

I try to keep that kind of stuff in mind any time I consider complaining about prices here in the U.S. We tend to have it easier and cheaper than most.

 

I’m normally not into MOSC collecting nor the G1 figures, but I’m definitely going to get the cassettes - just delightfully nostalgic.

 

I can't wait for Frenzy, the only one I've never owned.

 

Now, where are Squawktalk and BeastBox?

 

FYI guys the Walmart reset isn't for another 2 weeks, so while these may be popping up in the backrooms they won't be on shelves en masse for a bit.

Been waiting 35 ish years to get a G1 boxes soundwave, hopefully they will be there still on my return!

 

I hope they don\'t destroy the boxes with wire wrap like they did the Primes at the one near me. They put them on tight, bending the top flap down, and crushing into the box. Idiots. People want the box. Jeeesh.

I just preordered Soundy and tapes for equivalent of $138. On the one hand - it's a US store exclusive so it isn't really surprising it would be more in the UK, but on the other, we pay a lot more for everything anyway.

Starscream cost me $50 when I preordered him, but he's recently become available for $32. Oddly, he also seems to be available in European (multi language) packaging, which I find odd for a Walmart exclusive.

 

In speaking to 5 local walmart peeps including floor managers nothin is on their schedule yet in ma for august resets. Im worried tenatively. They have 40 primes at 25 each all top shelf with 20 more below. Not selling at all. Gonna go really cheap here...

 

Can you provide info on the multi language? There were bilingual packaging in the us. Im familiar with quad lingual based on the recognized euro majority languages. Just curious.

 

Yeah, Prime should have been either $35 without the trailer or $70 with the trailer. I now think the $50 price was maybe a compromise with TT regarding its own vintage Prime release's pricing so as not to be competitive (although the fact it's on clearance now may be undermining that).

 

Actually, it's $50 for Soundwave. That makes it $90 for the set. If you're looking just at the figure pricing, that's $40 more than they were just 6 or 7 years ago, IIRC. But in this case, I think we're paying for the additional packaging too. The fact it's all in vintage packaging helps with the sting.

I believe it's around $20 USD for the cassettes and $50 USD for Soundwave.

Here in Canada, Soundwave is $70 and each cassette pack is $30. I knew SW would be expensive considering how stupidly high priced Prime (without a friggin trailer) was, but those cassette pack prices are damn near criminal.

Folks complaining about $30 cassettes aren't adding the CAD at the end.
