Very temping but I already have the Classics G1 reissue that can fit MP cassettes, which are the only MP's that I collect these days... I still hope that this upcoming Siege Soundwave's tape deck can at least fit regular G1 cassettes since I'm not much of a fan of those upcoming wave 2 Minicon versions.

If I do cave and get this G1 exclusive I'll probably never open it.

I have no interest in G1 toys. None. But I think I want this.

I doubt it. When's the last time there was a G1 reissue with a new mold?

The Mini Cars has slight remolds, including BB, in the Encore 10 in 2008. I'd be willing to be there'd be no new remold for Hasbro

The Dino cassettes from SDCC were a glimmer of hope for something new, but then decided to break up 1 recolor paired with a G1 color. Sigh....

Omg, I’ve wanted one of these my whole life.
I’ll defo pick this up to keep MISB

I don’t think I will pick up many of these reissues as I focus on MP but this is a holy grail.
Megatron, Stunticons & Apeface are the others

I've not bought a G1 reissue in a long time... but this.....

IIRC, all the Walmart reissues so far are molds that were previously reissued.

All the Scramble City molds are considered to be lost (?)

The top four G1 re-issues I want to see are : Wheeljack, Hound, Skids, and Jetfire/Skyfire (the Macross/Robotech mold). With Tracks, Reflector, and Apeface/Snapdragon as very close runner ups.

I love soundwave to bits, super excited to be picking this one up.

Only question i have is does anyone see any differences between this and the original G1 figure? Box or otherwise? i know for the most recent Starscream reissue they included a gun mode Megatron for him to hold. Keeping them as original and G1 as possible is my appeal with the reissues, so the fact they changed somthing like the pack in items was enought to turn me off of picking that one up.

After a bit of research it looks like ol Soundwave came packed with various friends over the years, was Buzzsaw the first release? Any context would be appreciated :)

I can't wait to see how his battery turns into his shoulder cannon, and all the other play pattern features. I have Titans Return Blaster and the Target Bumblebee Soundwave, and I'm excited to see how the original compares.

Nice. This is awesome news since I always liked Buzzsaw over Laserbeak. I know that the cartoons were there to sell Laserbeak since if you had Soundwave you had Buzzsaw. But I felt that Buzzsaw has been second fiddle since the original.

I have the Encore release but might consider this if the price is right and they aren’t hard to find.

Hoping some cassette packs to go along with him are coming as well since I did miss out on most of those Encore releases.

I love it. I'll keep it beside my Target 'Bumblebee' Soundwave.

Neato. And if the pricing trend for most of these reissues holds, he'll probably cost between $50 and $60. I always liked Soundwave. He's a cold muthafucka. I don't know that I'll get him..but he is one of the better 84/85 TFs, IMO.

I'll likely pick one up to keep it in its box and display on my shelf. If cassettes get released, I'll pick those up as well.

That has always been my favorite box cover art, I don't know how many hours I would just stare at that design and that pose.

There are different variations for the original G1 Soundwave and as some mentioned here is the way the cassette door hinges. If you look at the below and compare it to the first post, the (mine at least) hinges don't go down to the rewind/FF buttons on some like the recent reissues. I believe the original had this variation but don't know which is which.

I totally agree. We're just kicking off the same reissues that we saw with the Encore/Commemorative Series/whatever that really nice Japanese series of reissues was called were.

I get that some of the molds are lost/damaged - but I don't believe that they haven't done running repairs or produced some new molds along the way. Please just give us some Dinobots. And Sunstreaker and Wheeljack too please!

Thank you. I may take you up on that. For the time being, I'm going to keep pestering my local retail.

UGGG!!!, didn't notice that until just now. The door hinge on the re-issue is BUTTUGLY. This is one of the things I really don't like that Hasbro is doing with all these re-issues. The changes they made to Starscream (wings, nullrays, missiles) are all horrible. At least with SS I can hunt down vintage parts but this change to the door is a complete re-engineer.
