The cargo bay and cockpit both open. There's a full control panel I cut out of the Rhino rig from MASK fame. One of the seats was also used. I'll be getting a HUD viewscreen sticker and other monitors later. All non Prime parts were hand made from steel. It's painted using Sikkens Autobase and clearcoat system. Same stuff that's used on todays cars making it resistant to UV rays or even most chemicals. Paint applied by airbrush and cleared using a conventional HVLP gravity feed gun. It weighs just under six pounds
Anywho, here's the transformation. Stand it up using the usual Prime foot transformation Remove the cargo bay. Extend legs. There's a cover around back that flips open the same as Prime had to conceal his head. It flips back here all the same to allow the arms to pass. Shift cockpit to one side and slide arm around to back. Twist cockpit the other way and repeat with other arm. Cockpit down with both arms around back. Arms swing to side. Chest panels flip in. Chest panels slide in and lock onto cockpit concealing them little weapon pods. Arms down and fists out.
I forgot to mention that the backpack hangs out during all this making it unstable. Now the backpack pivots up into place and the wings slide in. And that's all there is doods.
That has to be one of the coolest kitbashes I've ever seen! Hasbro/ takara are you looking at this???
Now THAT is something I would buy in a heartbeat. I hope hasbro people still nose around internet chatrooms...if so they'd better take notes!
lol i havent heard that in a long time oh yeah, sweet custom. a bit on the bulky side, but im just impressed the fact it transforms.
Absolutely, Absolutely Amazing!! How did you make the head sculpt? You should mass produce (if possible) I'd buy one! Excellent Work man, thanks for sharing.
Astonishing. And yeah, the fact that it actually transforms makes it even more stunning. Like the people said, Hasbro - take note.
Wow, its amazing what people have been able to do using MP Prime for kitbashing. Gotta say, Skyfire was definately not one I ever expected. Awsome job man.
