Not much of a starting point:) But it's my clients childhood toy so I did my best to make it look respectable again.

I've created these grooves where the screw holes used to be to enable the sliding for the transformation..

I like the mods. At first glance your shoulder cuts stumped me, then as I scrolled down I was impressed. Is that knurled pin to hold the shoulder joint in place?

A snipped pin.The kind that tailors use..Since the shoulder piece is about 4mm thick.

if you can do this to a sunstreaker, g1 cyclonus, skids, blurr, or even a hotrod, I think I might want to either figure out how to do similar, or commission one, depending on the amount of styrene required. (pins and cuts I could manage, maybe using other parts, like the legs and hips here.)

amazingly well done, aside from the elbows and head position, you might be able to confuse this with the MP!

Looks really, really good. This is the kind of custom work I remember seeing in the early days of this fandom, back before we had Classics and Generations and Masterpieces etc to give us posable G1 characters. Well done.

This is some really good work. I really like your approach of "respecting the figure," especially due to it being so personal. Props for that :thumb

Thanks SQ!I have another G1 SS coming up:) I'll try to make his head swivel an maybe wrists,so looking forward to this project.Bringing figures into life with articulation is almost as rewarding as scratch building them.
Here are some pics of the finished work.
