I would've preferred single-cassette Soundwave, since I have Soundblaster, but this is almost as good!

This is awesome. I think that this mold is a very interesting new creation.

I think it's the coolest thing in reissues since Anime Galvatron with the Matrix on a chain.

I have both Takara reissue Soundwave & Soundblaster but it still wouldn't hurt to add THIS HYBRID to my collection. Sets me wondering if Hasbro will release Soundblaster using Soundwave's mold up next...:inquisiti

the mold was already remolded into soundblaster when takara did their soundblaster reissue. THAT is why this soundwave is being done with the sounblaster shape. They aren't going to remold it back into soundwave again, that'd be horribly expensive, if its even possible at all.

That implies the Soundwave mold was destroyed or indelibly changed in making Soundblaster. Considering the tape door part is the only difference between the two (reissue) toys mold-wise, it seems pretty irresponsible (and hopefully unlikely) for Takara to do that, especially if they ever wanted to do Soundwave again for whatever reason. I'd guess Hasbro did Soundwave-colored Soundblaster for the same reason a lot of posters here said they'd buy it - it offers something Takara hasn't already. (and the basic nostalgics either won't notice or won't care about the change)

    Now a dilema for me.
I have the Takara Soundwave and Soundblaster, but so I want Soundwave with the extra tape room?

dude, you have to get the SW with the extra room. its a totally new g1 variant. even if ur sick of SW already, get it for the history/heritage factor alone.

Sweet! I figured Hasbro would color him "Soundwave," but I was more curious about the cassettes. Laserbeak and Ravage are a good choice for first cassettes. Now I don't have to worry about my Diaclone Laserbeak anymore! Yay!

But I do hope that they rerelease the rest of Soundwave's cassettes (up thru Beastbox and Squawktalk). Maybe they could release them like Takara did with the Minibots. Or better yet, release both. :D

This in my opinion has been the smartest thing HASBRO's done lately (with all the promising disappointments of their feature film and all). Its great to have a readily available reissued soundwave that everyone can afford and get for their collection. along with an added feature that allows you to hold 2 cassettes. I for 1 am glad that i don't have to Spend $120 or more for a takara soundwave and then have to go out and spend another $100 for a soundblaster just for the ravage. I hope they keep the reissues coming because i could use a reflector and some dinobots. and if they could reissue a jetfire life would be sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!
