I do think lavender would get made before violet, though. The less "real gun" and bright it looks, the better chance he sees a release.

 

2006 Classics Megatron still looks more like a gun than G1 Galvatron and he wasn’t lavender. My biggest concern is that since the orange part of the cannon is removable that they might legally have to make his head painted orange (or possibly just the crown).

 

Yeah, but he was also had bright neon green bits. Anything bright will only help his case - whereas dark violet would only hurt it.

Didn't think about the head part...but yeah, the crown piece (the part that sticks out in gun mode) would have to be neon orange. thankfully, the rest of his head is hidden and wouldn't require weird colors.

 

So, would people be okay with something like this?

If Devastator is reissued, I hope the quality is better than the reissues a while back that were full of QC nightmares.

A reissue of G1 Blue Diaclone Bluestreak from the first TF checklist would be sublime! That would be a definite buy.

 

Devastator already happened. Quality is mostly on par with the Encore release. Good luck finding one, though.

 

I get the original molds are lost or destroyed but Hastak really needs to bite the bullet and just retool Grimlock. I get that remaking the tool of an existing toy is as expensive and designing a new one - but its also friggin' Grimlock and they will easily make their money back with how well that thing will sell. The other Dinobots I can understand not wanting to take the risk but Grimmy is easily one of the most popular G1 Transformers and to not have him be re-issued is crazy no matter what hoops they have to go through to make it happen.

 

I think Grimlock and Swoop would move like greased lightning. But I also think Hasbro is taking the easiest path to money and are content with just regurgitating Encore releases.

The only Minibots to not see a reissue is Hub Cap, Beachcomber and Sea Spray - all of which were used in the G2 series, BTW.

 

Not that hard to reissue those without the loop for the chain, right?
