This isn't even debatable, G1 Transformers are, from what we've seen, objectively able to take way more damage.

G1 Transformers get hit by bullets all the time. Bullets ain't got shit on G1 Transformers. Bullets are G1 Transformers' bitch.

Movie Transformers are bullets' bitch.

 

But when angry, MoviePrime goes Super Saiyan.

He got his arm ripped right the f*ck off while angry. He got stabbed and shot in the back while angry. Hell, his (shitty, so unbelievably shitty) death scene happened during one of his rampages.

Megatron got blown out a window from getting shot. G1 Megatron ate tank shells for breakfast.

 

Megatron also Was Fataly wounded from getting punched and knocked off a ledge while Movie Megatron had his head blown off and chunks taken out of his torso and was still in fighting shape. Megatron got blown out the window yes but he also shrugged it off like it was nothing. Starscream got his arm cut off and all he had to do was reattach it with out the need for maintenance.


For all the talk about how Durable G1 Bots are i seem to remember Prowl dying from a simple shot to the Shoulder.

Mean While the combined fire power of Ratchet, Ironhide, Jazz, and a squad of human soldiers with Grenade launches barely Slowed Brawl in the movies down.

G1 Optimus has taken down Devastator

Actually that's a good question, why would they be fighting each other?

How about this; G1 Optimus vs movie Megatron, who would win? And that would be Optimus, because even a potato can kill movie Megatron.

 

Not to defend Hot Rod or anything, but if Optimus had just pulled the trigger instead of giving a monologue, the deed would've been done.

Movie Prime told Demolishor like 5 words before executing him.

G1 can't move around. He's a brick. He's also pretty dumb in comparison to movie.

 

Wow. People are still saying this even after all the proof to the contrary?

Really? Prime in the first movie practically begging to be killed instead of actually putting half a second of thought into the situation makes him smart, eh?

 

See, I'm pretty sure that monologue is a pretty good indicator that he wasn't gonna shoot the unarmed Megatron. There are actually a couple of context clues lending credence to my theory;

-Although Movie Prime apologists like to tout the "Megatron must be stopped, no matter the cost." line as some sort of proof that it's what G1 Prime would do, too, but look at what he says. "Must be stopped," not killed, not executed; stopped. "No matter the cost" pretty clearly means he's willing to risk his own life, not suffer some blow to his morality because he just has to murder this dude in cold blood.

Oh, and how loaded is the term "Movie Prime apologists"? Doesn't that just piss you off? I'm pissed off just thinking about it!

-When he retrieves his lost weapon, he picks it up by the barrel. This might be a stretch, but if he was in any sort of hurry to get the job done, I think he'd pick it up by the handle.

-He speechifies Megatron for a full minute. Clock it. He stands there, talking about mercy for 60 seconds. In other words, he spends that full minute not shooting Megatron. He's pretty clearly coaxing him into surrender.

-Not that this is actually relevant, but people argue that Movie Prime's way is better, because G1 Prime got killed. The thing is, if Megatron tried to point his little robo-pistol at Prime, before Hot Rod showed up, Prime would've easily killed him.

And, no, I don't think Movie Prime's willingness to do these brutal things would help him in the fight. We're dealing with completely different levels of power.

 

I would have to go with Optimus, because Movie Megatron was only taken down by Sam with the cube.

 

After careful consideration I've come up with the answer.
G1 Prime is more: You guys stay behind, I have to do this alone if it kills me. I can't risk any more casualties and it'll be really cool in the long run."
While Movie Prime is "Oh scrap Megatron brought a gun my only option is to commit suicide, leaving all four of my soldiers to take Megatron on themse... Megatron already killed Jazz and Bee is getting towed around the city by a human? Darn. Oh screw it where's that cube?"
Then he proceeded to let the old guy get cannabalised to improve himself and still got his windows kicked in by Sentinel.
