I bought this for myself as a late bday present when BBTS had it marked down on their black friday sale. If I had this as a kid I'm sure I woulda been all over these guys. I don't particularly like how the robot heads on some of them act as the "connector pieces" I noticed on a couple of them it looked like it mighta "chipped" the paint off on some of their faces, hence now I don't wanna use the display stands for some of them, but its ok as I rather like having them display in beast modes.

I was reading though that with a lot of the sets of this toy in the U.S. that Nautilator was omited from this set. What was the reason why exactly? Did they really save that much money on cost of production if they omitted one figure out of the package? Or was it just something stupid like a safety reason? To be honest he's probably one of my favorite figures in this set.

Nautilator is the right leg? I have him in my set.

I'm going keep mine in combined or beast mode. Robot mode looks dumb. Plus on the TV show they are in beast mode

In this set yes, the lobster, I was referring to the sets from the 1980s though is what Nautilator wasn't included in.

Yep, Nautilator wasn't included in the original gift set. But he was available single carded.

Nautilator was not included in the 1988 Seacon gift set. I don't think a reason for this has ever come out. Probably couldn't fit him in the standardized box size.

Devastator is six basic-class figures with small accessories. Piranacon is five basic figures, one deluxe, and somewhat larger accessories. I'm just speculating, anyway. I dunno.

Ha, no. They were just toys back then. And we bought 'em by the truckload.

I am shocked they put the price back at $40 after the Black Friday sale. They have almost 2k of these things. They should be selling them for $15 just to get rid of the damn inventory. I would buy it for $20 or less. I only remember having 2 of them when I was a kid so the other 3 plus the combiner form don't interest me so much.
