I love both series so much and I know I sound like a broken record here: Watching G1 as a 9 year old and watching Beast Wars with my younger Nephew(who is no longer with us, sadly) at age 21. I guess I was very fortunate to watch BOTH series in their first-run. Watching both series has sentimental meaning as well being just plain great. I voted G1 just because I feel it is a HAIR better than Beast Wars but only by a hair. Both are outstanding series. We are fortunate as fans to have 2 series that are this good and beloved. To me the greatest part about these 2 series is the great, GREAT way Beast Wars tied G1 into it. I don't want to go into specifics to spoil it for the uninitiated because that was what was so awesome about watching it the first time through, NOT KNOWING about it. THAT is what made Beast Wars a must-watch for me. I'll stop now. LOL
Even though to me BW is far more superior, G1 has it's charms. I just got G1 Brawl yesterday and I can't put him down.
Wow, this is hard, but I gotta go with G1. Beast Wars was a better show by far, but I like how the bots look in G1 better.
I will always love G1, but I think Beast Wars changed the way think about storytelling. It raised the standards and really until now with TFA & TFP no other series (RID, Unicron Trilogy) could even compare to it!
happily surprised this turned out so close. i agree with what most people said here: BW is probably a better told story with deeper characters, but G1 started it all and had some gems on par with the best of BW, IMO.
Beast Wars. I liked the beast modes, in fact I prefer beast modes to vehicle modes. Also, no 'this is Megatron's latest ultimate weapon.' Or at least, not as much. That's not to say I don't enjoy G1, I just prefer Beast Wars.
I feel like it's easy to trash the G1 cartoon for having a rough story, but if you look at any cartoon from that time you will see that that was par for the course. Cartoons didn't actually evolve till later on.
Beast Wars for me because it was the very first TF show I've ever watched and it still holds a special place in my heart!
