For what it's worth, he seems to be selling in my area. It's a slow burn...but the numbers are dwindling. I think once there's even a slight mark-down, he'll magically disappear. I know I'll buy a second to open.

 

Hmmm.... if he is down to $20 by me, I may buy a 2nd.

It's not only Texas. It's every store in my vicinity as well. It must be the box they come in. Just about all the figures I've seen have bent cards at the top or crunched corners like they've all been dropped from a high shelf.

 

Went to non-penny pincher good homes.

 

Dozens on the shelves in MA & not damaged as far as I can see. They sold & restocked heavily. Makes me wonder if they will Remain during the next quarter as the shelves are so barren right now with no sign of interest in placing more stock there. Christmas is so far away right now, no real reason to clearance him off atm.

 

The past couple of days, I've gone to several Walmarts around town. One's stock of Primes were completely out. Another had about eight left. Another had about 12.

Someone is buying them, though. He may not be selling in Starscream or Devy style...but he's not slouching like Hot Rod did, either. This is more of a slow burn...

I still think had he been $35, we'd all be lamenting on how we can't find any because he'd be selling out everywhere.

 

Watch them go for a premium on the aftermarket because of the novelty of being packed without a trailer. Retail sales patterns don't always tell the full story.

 

He will likely sell better on aftermarket as well, because of the no trailer - thus differentiating from the KO's of the original.

 

Be careful if you're still looking to pick up a G1 Reissue Optimus Prime. I found this at a local Walmart in my area earlier today. Someone bought a G1 Reissue Prime, stuffed the cheaper cost JADA Truck Prime in the box, taped it, and returned it to Walmart. The employee had no clue what I was telling him and he just said okay, put it back on the shelf, and walked away. I then just took it to management and they seemed to understand. Kind of sucks that things like this happen.

 

We've had one report amongst our local fan group of that happening in our area. Having both on the shelf at the same time probably wasn't the best logistical idea Walmart has had - but it could also just be really bad coincidence where one company didn't anticipate the other company's release schedule.

 

Seriously, what the F is wrong with people. Can you imagine being a kid and getting heartbroken by this.

 

He did drop to 49.99 CDN at Walmart for a bit but is now back to 69.99 ...madness.

 

The problem is no one ever thinks of these kind of scams until someone up and does one.

 

I just saw this reissue at TRU (in my country) and they were asking $75 for it! What the heck?

A few years back I could find the complete version (with trailer) for that price!

Please be careful when picking up a G1 Reissue Optimus Prime. A few days ago I found ONE that was switched with the cheaper JADA non-transforming Optimus Prime. I informed my local store managers of this and today I found SIX more at the same store! Apparently either they lack the intelligence to comprehend what is happening or they just don't care. Due to their gross inability of either, their store is not only losing money, but people who do not realize this when buying a switched box are going to be ripped off.
