In other news, is anyone else using BrickSeek to hunt down clearance deals, since individual stores in the same chain markdown stuff at different rates? I've been knocking off stuff on my list of POTP stuff that was "pretty cool, but not worth full price" - $5 Legends and $22 Leaders.

Then checking the G1 stuff at local Walmarts... $17 Starscream and $35 Devastator. (I had picked up a Hot Rod when they were down to $13 before Christmas.)

But the best one: one lone Walmart had clearanced the minibots down to $1. One. Dollar. Official Dollar Tree Transformers! I did a receipt swap, and got $130 back over my original purchases. (One full set of doubles to open and play with for me, and one for a buddy.)

Walmart will honor a receipt within 7 days of purchase, if you happen to find a store with a better deal. Like a $35 Devastator when you just bought a $55 one. But if you smile and talk real nice, they might extend that window for you.

Thanks. I was aware of the gun change but didn't even think of that when I saw them both.

Hey, I thought $74 for Devastator was a good deal. I paid $30 for the G2 in 1992 and $120 for the Encore in 2012.

That was probably the only one of these reissues that I thought was properly priced. Had Prime came out with his trailer and all I wouldn't have minded a $70/75 price tag.

See, that was the only one I took issue with. I bought Hot Rod and Starscream right away at full price, but when I saw the MSRP for the minibots, I rationalized it as "6 minibots at $8 apiece = $48, so $50 was really my threshold for Devastator.

Ugh, Optimus is hitting the nearest Walmart to me. As much as I want to get it, I figure I have been fence riding since it was announced. If I have been on the fence that long, I gotta try to convince myself that this is something that I just don't "need".

How does the saying go? "If you have to think about it, you don't need it." Or is it "You do need it?" I dunno... one of those...

It might be a good idea to check your own terrible grammar and punctuation before you question the literacy of others.

I hate to hell that I want this. God dang I'm weak.

According to brickseek, it has just hit my area. Its taking all of my will to not drive to Walmart.

    I hate myself.

Totally fair, I can agree with that. Even taking the combiner feature as a price able thing, Is say $10 each ($60 for a set) would be logical to me, I'm just willing to add in a slight price gouging for the nostalgia factor to bump it to $70/75 (which see,s to be a real factor, Devey did sell out everywhere from what I've seen).

Yeah, I'm totally guilty of that too. I did the exact same thing - "Well, they do come as a set, and all these boxes are really cool... but they're new 30 year old toys, they shouldn't cost this much to begin with... Cool boxes... Can't... Decide... Brain, hurt..."

Not in the GTA, but I haven't seen these yet. Mind you, that was last weekend. Going out today to see what I can find.

I believe it's been sighted at several Walmarts.

Just saw him at a Wal Mart close to me. Had to restrain myself. Was $49.95.

Eh....I picked up Prime when I saw it. Seeing as how I never saw any Devastators or Starscreams (and am missing an outback), I didn't want to chance it:
