$50 would be a fair price if he had his trailer. Should be half that without. Seems like not including it would have to have been a cost cutting move to make him cheaper to move more units. And yet..

The dude is speaking the truth though... Don’t sell the g1 experience and not deliver the goods. The trailer and original box are equally a part of the experience.
Man, I never find anything decent clearanced at Walmart?

This is some BS! The '03 re-issue was $40 for a COMPLETE figure! I'm usually a sucker for a Prime re-issue and somehow they've made me NOT want this one LOL!

Comic books used to be $1.25, cans of soda were 2 quarters, and a Big Mac was $1.89. Uphill. Both ways.

Did he even ever show up on screen in alt mode without a trailer?

it's kinda weird how news credit works. I mean this figure and photos of it have been posted for a good 2 weeks now.

    Congrats to Cheem though. :)

Seems expensive for what it is. Also, a lot of the play value of the original toy is lost without the trailer, IMO. I'm sure you could score a trailer separately for cheap, but you shouldn't HAVE to.

    Eh. Just not for me.

It was $50 with a trailer back in 2002...

    Inflation is real.

I think for a long time the idea has been, If you want an G1 Optimus with a trailer, buy MP-10. and when they kept putting it out for $150 every few years that was ok. I think they might still be making it clear that the only way to get the full G1 Optimus is with a MP, that's your nostalgia solution. Other releases miss the trailer or are cybertronian or are Orion Pax. But now that the MP version is going to be past $300 Hasbro isn't pushing nostaligic buyers to the MP solution they're just pricing people out of the market.

I'd be onboard with buy it but $50 dollars is a bit much i do believe. Now if it was cheaper i could see buying it at $35 but that is tops. Well i guess just have to wait till they bump the price a bit cheaper.

What\'s next? Reissue of Ultra Magus without his trailer? Or maybe Omega Supreme without the tracks, LOL. Come on Hasbro, you have collectors more than willing to buy great products. Stop taking us for fools, please.

Not fools... Imagine if they release the trailer six months from now, but loaded with extras and retail it for $100. You know people will post the Futurama Fry Meme everywhere.

It should be called Overcharge for what they are asking for it. 50 bucks for a trailerless optimus? No way!

Personally I'm thrilled there's no trailer.
The price should only be $35-$40 though.

Wow.. No trailer? Wtf are they thinking? Any idea what the other reissues in this wave will be? Astrotrain and Thundercracker I assume?

    Probably Cliffjumper? Hopefully Pipes too.

The devy set are basically hot wheels cars, I bet they are worth less than this figure. I have seen the diaclone colored carded devastator toys for $2 at Dollarama, they don't cost that much to produce them.. (I bought a set and was amused to see people opening the card and selling them on ebay as originals for hundreds of bucks..)

Can we all stop bitching about the price ,and there being no trailer and inflation and just appreciate the fact that Hasbro is reissuing a g1 optimus. If not get off the damn thread.
