A thanks to uuser for inspiring me to upgrade a G1 Metroplex. He has articulated arms, legs, head, toes, hands, light-up tower, and light-up eyes (gotta get a longer screw though) He's 100% painted and re-stickered.
The posability is cool, but I think the upper legs might be too long. The new hands and paint look cool.
nice work, i was just checking out uuser's Metroplex last night. im doing the devastator he did, he's a definite asset to the radicons. thanks for your help too, you pointed me in the right direction a few times. keep it up.
thanks. i agree, they a re a bit too long. reminds me of david hasslehoff, lol thanks man, and that's awesome. cant wait to see him! thanks, i'm glad u like him awesome man. he's a great asset to radicons. he puts out some great work, and very inspiring. looking forward to that devy!
Man i cannot keep up with you, ive been staring at my reissue metroplex just waiting to customize him, this thing is great man keep it up.
The proportions are perfect! That is awesome! Don't think about modifying the legs! Throw in a G1 Trypticon! At least get a snapshot of Metroplex unleashing a 360 degree kick to Trypticon's skidplate! That'd be awesome!
Interesting use on the SWTF Chewbacca feet I was trying to figure how to use that mold as parts for other tf customs
the adding detailed parts looks awesome...only from my opinions the leg a little bit weird...mybe upper leg are too thin for the lower leg sizes...the leg look lanky if compare to upper body..(or the upper body is too short??)the fists is too big (even bigger than the head)...i dunno...i try to be honest here.. but that is my opinions..doest mean this is bad custom
I think thyvipera answers you in his above post. I agree with you, but I see why he did the legs the way he did [for telescoping reasons]. I'm sure there's a way to bulk those legs up some, if need be. From the cartoons, he's not super bulky though, even though I think those thighs could use a bit of meat on em. Great, now I want some KFC. Thanks a lot tv!! *grumbles* Aside from the legs and some finishes (like the epoxy on the leg joints), I really think this is an awesome custom. I never liked the fact that G1 Metroplex was so stumpy looking, and add to the typical blockiness of G1 toys, and you end up with a frustrated, young SQ7 back in the day. Thank God for articulation . . . and Radicons
Great work thyVipera. You could probably improve the skinny legs by simply bulking up the sides of the knees a bit. Especially on the outer edges, that would still allow articulation/transformation while providing just enough 'meat' to solidify the look...I'm guessing.
ah! this custom slipped my eye at first. I really like what you've done here though I echo the comments about the upper legs. Not too big an issue, but they could be a little thicker. The detailing is sweet.
I am so glad to see another version of the metroplex. Excellent job!! I like it, especially the painting.
lol, good eye. i had no knee shields for him, and i searched and searched. they're kind of out-of-place, but i think they serve their purpose. thanks for the commment thanks a lot man, i'm glad you like him no problem man, speak your mind. i totally agree with eveything you said. i was trying to work with what i had, which was ok, if only I had the time to modify what I had, hence, making the thighs thicker, and i better source of hands, etc. I really appreciate the comment man, and for speaking your mind and giving your opinion. I'm hoping to pick up another Metroplex soon and totally re-doing him. thanks SQ7! thanks bro, will do, and the next version will be betterz thanks Mike! thanks man. thanks for inspriing me to want to cut up the old Metroplex, lol. u have some very inspiring work, and i cant wait to see more
All the mods are a severe improvement. He looks awesome overall. I sometimes hate Primus' legs because they make my figure look a little skinny, and it looks like metroplex has a similar issue. Here are a few solutioins if you are looking for some...if not, skip the post. Maybe you could have the guns Holster onto his thighs when they are not in use and move the wheels lower to Primus' thighs. Also, where the knees meet the shin, it looks like you used the mighty putty to attach it. I am a huge fan of that stuff but the glossy paint is tough on it. maybe you could build some knee armor around it out of a few small sheets of styrene to hide it? ah hell maybe a picture will help:
