Since they did it with Prime, surely they can do it with Megatron as the Orange barrel Law does not apply to Megatron from 1984, he can also include Issue 2 of the 4 transformers comic and contain 3 more episodes of Transformers G1 along with a Decepticon Talk Box with Frank Welker Voice lines and the first phrase of "Transformers, More than meets the eye"

I would DEFINITELY buy him if he was ever re-released in Universe

    Would you?

Not going to happen. They even had an idea to make the entire Megatron toy blaze orange and it still wouldn't go. Or something like that.

But G1 Megatron is allowed to be re-released in his colour scheme without an orange barrel

No. No. No. Not happening unless it's completely orange - and they're not even going to do that.

There are several Japanese reissues you can hunt down online. Much better than waiting for a Hasbro release that's never coming.

No go. He resembles a real firearm too much at a passing glance.

    I am wearing pants.

Oh, I thought we were just sharing.

Nostalgia is a powerful factor for a lot of collectors. I'd love a G1 Megatron some day. That day is probably sooner than my Fort Max acquisition, but not far separated. :)

Considering I live in TX, it might not be a bad idea to have one around, just for the heck of it! :lol

A G1 Megs reissue in the US is never going to happen. To back up what Nemesis Dirge said, Hasbro has stated (I want to say it was Botcon 2008) that if they tried to release Classics nerf gun Megatron it would not happen... and that's about as unrealistic looking as you can get.

It will never happen but my vote goes for "yes," because I want to see how much HASBRO butchers that figure.

So things have changed even since Classics Megs has come out? Why couldn't they re-release him in the nerf colors, it's only a few years old?

    Go buy the TFC version.

That's about it. They said the necessary color changes would make it so lurid that it would no longer be viable.

Won't happen here in the US, at least.

No, unfortunately he's not. Even the Encore Megatron import from a few years ago had to have an orange plug shoved in him (that just sounds dirty lol) for US online retailers to sell him.

My poor Megs just sits around in the fetal position feeling dirty & looking violated... poor little guy

Of course, they could re-issue him in the UK and elsewhere in the world. ;-)

(Now, if only Hasbro UK actually had ANY sway over anything. I don't think the staff here can tie their shoelaces without a call to the US.)

But yes - just buy Japanese.

The funny thing about Hasbro's recolor coment is that, if Takara were to release an eHobby 'blaze orange' G1 Megatron, it would sell out quickly and become highly sought after :lol
