    Hi gang,

Someone is selling this G1 Megatron. Stickers are unapplied. Is there any way to tell if this is the real deal or a knock-off?

    Thanks

Weren't the reproduction done by Encore? If so then they would have the Encore logo on them, however I don't have either... and this is just speculation so..

Megatron has been reissued 3 times.

    1 15th annaversary
    2 TFc no.6
    3 Encore

Then you have 3 ehobby releses aswell.

But as I stated, no KO exsist of him.

Well ^ that shows how much I know about it, it's a figure I want but won't have the money for it in a long time...

That list will at least give the op a starting point for research to find out what the other boxes look like.

I own Megs MIB, unapplied labels, cannot tell if the toy is vintage, but the box and label sheet look spot on. With the labels, the way to tell is the faded decepticon logo. Vintage Megatron sticker sheets have faded purple logos.

That is either Legit (I am leaning this way) or a Reissue put in the box of an original with the Sticker sheet and Paperwork of an original. That sticker sheet is 100% original by the faded color of the Decepticon logos and the fact that it's in English.

There is a KO Megatron floating around, but it's very easy to spot and doesn't come in a knocked off box (see photo attachment, photo source: http://toyhell.com/bootlegtransformers.html):

Typically KOs will have different details on the back of box painting. This looks looks solid...real question is what was the price?

    Cool thanks gang!

He's asking $190 and says it is mint. I'm going to ask him how he got it and if it sounds good I'm jumping on it.
I knew I could count on you guys for the right call. Thanks again!

Like the above post, get detailed pics of the figure before paying. $190 is totally fair, possibly even low price if the toy is vintage and not broken. Shit, a vintage Megs label sheet just sold for $82 on ebay, and intact boxes in great shape can go for more than $100 just for the box.
If I were selling that, I would list at $.99 and let it ride true auction style.

My thoughts exactly. Everything looks spot on for a G1 MIB Megatron. I'd say it's legit.

I've held that one, the quality isn't bad for a mid quality KO.

If that is the genuine article, $190 is a good deal IMO.

I just got that exact same one for $200, and he looked good to me. I think mine might be pre-rub, because of the stamp on his box, and just stuck a rub sign on him. Does anyone know how to tell pre-rub from rub based on stamps and the box?
