If Megatron knows that Starscream always tries to over throw hime and backstabb him why did he even activated him back in the Ark in MTMTE? It's logical that if you know that one of your Decepticons soldiers that always backstabbs you is in stasis lock you dont re-activate him

He probably realized Starscream is a valuable warrior to the Deception cause, not to mention he is the commander of the seekers which is a huge advantage for the Cons.

What, that thing written by Costa? I use it for toilet paper. The cartoon, with all its archaic 80s goofiness, is superior to IDW's ongoing. As to the question, I totally subscribe to the notion that Megatron and Starscream were good friends at one time. Something happened to completely disillusion Megatron in Starscream's eyes, and they've been bitter frenemies ever since. There's little hints all throughout the toon, but Starscream's rant in AHM really sealed it. So the answer is that Megatron keeps Starscream around, because somewhere, deep down, he really wants to be freinds.
