I recently won a large lot of G1 TFs on Ebay. In the lot were 7 G1 Mail aways. Two of them were opened from their sealed plastic bag: Camshaft and Mirage. They don't look like they have ever been transformed though. The other five are still sealed in the plastic bags (the mailer boxes were not included). Those 5 are: Thundercracker, Wheeljack, Sunstreaker, and the other two Omnibots. Does anyone know what these guys are worth? I plan on keeping them as I only collect G1, but I rarely have seen any of them in the factory sealed/taped bags unopened. I have seen a few Omnibots, but they seemed to usually be the Canadian/french Version b/c they have French writing on the insert. All the ones I have sealed seem to be USA versions. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

omnibots are hard to assign a hard value to as to the fact they never sold at retail...i have seen them go on ebay from anywhere from $20 to $50ish if complete and in good shape....dunno about the other mail away offers though....

Great scott don't open them! there are a finite number of those sealed in the world.

g1 product is always a great investment. I know bagged pieces are'nt as nice as carded things like minispys, and constructicons. But it still is a valued trait of g1 items.

I have found some g1's that were loose but remarkably clean and stiff. (quickswitch, wildrider, shockwave, snarl and prowl) When the transformers 50th anniversary occurs it will be necessary that some collectors keep things pristine to show the world.

Not to worry, I ONLY collect sealed G1 TFs so I will not open them. (with the exception of keeping the 2 that are already opened, I would not normally buy opened TFs, but the 2 mentioned came with the lot, so they will be the exception :)  I will post pictures tonight. Thanks for the replies!

Wheeljack I expect to be the most valuable one as his mold is lost/broken/stolen and will never be reissued. And yours is brand new!

Take them out and give then to kids to play with outside in the mud and grit. :)

I've still got some of the mail away sheets for various TF offers back in the G1 days.

Here are the pics. Unfortunately Downshift's tape broke as I was getting all of them out of storage to take the pictures :(  So only 4 of them are factory sealed now. Mirage is opened and looks amazing! He is very bright and vibrant! LMK what you all think. Also it may be possible that Wheeljack was opened before since he has sticker on him. I am not sure how he came in the mail away version, stickers applied or not. Thundercracker and Sunstreaker do not have the stickers applied.

That is a fine haul you have there. It blows away any ROTF haul that people are posting.

I would say they are worth what you paid for them. Unless you won them at a low price or a great buy it now. I know that was a cop out. I could not resist. Omnibots in the baggie usually go for $35-50 ea. Mirage and the seeker have gone for about $15-20 over the loose price. I say that because I've only seen 1 auction for each and it was a while ago. Wheeljack and Sunstreaker are kinda hard to say. I would say they would go for at least twice the value of a loose one as they are kinda rare. I hope this helps

Yeah I paid quite a bit for them. I also got about 12 opened G1 and G2 TFs that I will be listing on ebay this weekend if anyone is interested. I don't collect opened TFs, even though I have to admit I love being able to actually handle them, instead of keeping them MISB. But I keep my sealed ones sealed b/c I think I'll always be able to find opened ones. But it is getting expensive to find a 25 year old TF MISB/MOSC. Also in the lot I won was a Mint on Sealed Card Tentakil from the Seacons. He looks really good, save for a small tear on the punch tab on top of the card. It is very small though. I may have him AFAed and add him to my AFA G1 collection. If anyone is interested in seeing my G1 TF room, I'll be posting pictures under the "Collections" section of the board either tonight or tomorrow. Thanks for the kind words everyone. I very happy to have the mail aways are I think they are fairly hard to find in Top shape or sealed.

Well If I "Beat" anyone in an auction on Ebay, I can assure you it is nothing personal :)  Just "Setting" the market price with my bids :)  And yes it was the 1K auction that I won those items in. I have been collecting TFs for slightly more than a year now, and I rarely see sealed G1 Mail aways. So I jumped on them. Only problem now is 3 of the 7 are not sealed. I knew 2 were not sealed when I was bidding on them. And Downshift's tape broke as I was getting him out for the pics I posted in this thread. Also I really don't know if wheeljack is resealed or not since he already has his stickers on him in a "sealed" bag. Can anyone offer some info on the G1 Mail aways as far as if stickers came on ANY of them in the mail? Or did they ALL have to be applied once they arrived in the mail? Any help is appreciated.

Not sure about exact values, but i remember unopened examples of Overdrive being much more rare than the other two.
