I know both deaths were brutal without mercy as both his assassin showed no mercy. But which death you think is the darkest and most brutal of both? I think it's G1 Ironhide as he kept the fight on by grabbing Megatron's leg before getting his head slaughtered.

 

G1 Ironhide. His death was more tragic to me than even G1 Optimus Prime's. It was just sad. Trying to fight at the very last second and then just shot at point blank. Movie Ironhide was pretty much just cheap shotted.

His movie version's death was pretty shocking too though. Too bad it got spoiled for me because of an ass on youtube.

Movie Ironhide got me more because I like him so much, so I voted him. However purely from an objective point of view G1 Ironhide's death was more shocking and brutal. In the movies such gruesome demises are nearly commonplace, but in G1 that shit was outrageous.

 

I so wanted to see what how Ironhide looked after he got slaughtered by Megatron, althought that might of been too much for kids to handle

 

Movie 'hides' death was soooo much sadder...

 

What's more brutal? Fusion Cannon blast to the head or three acid shots through the chest that cause you to rot from the inside out and turn into a pile of rust? Movie 'Hide by a landslide

 

I actually think Bayverse Ironhide had the sadder death. I felt more for G1 Ironhide because I got to spend a lot more time getting to know him, but he died an honorable death in battle. There was only 1 way for G1 Ironhide to die, and that was it. Bayverse Ironhide, meanwhile, objectively died more brutally (3 shots and slowly disintegrating...with a decapitation...ouch!), and he died without understanding exactly why he was getting killed in the first place. From the audience point of view the 2 deaths are comparable in shock value, but from the character's point of view, I'm sure Bayverse Ironhide was just as shocked as if Bumblebee, for example, killed him.

 

Movie Ironhide by a long shot. Just the thought of anything like that happening to anyone is rather gruesome to say the least.

I voted for Movie Ironhide. Though behind shot in the head does sound painful, being slowly turned to dust by cosmic rust sounds so much worse. Also theres the fact that G1 Ironhide was killed by a known enemy, movie Ironhide was betrayed by someone he thought that he could trust.

 

An assumption....one that I personally share, but it cant be proven because they didnt show us.

We cant even be sure that he was shot in the head.

 

They made us think that...plus,in his condition,that shot would have killed him even if it WASN'T in the head
