What figure/figures out of the g1 series are generally considered to be some of the toys harder and harder to find complete and unbroken as the years pass by.

unbroken? well, shockwave comes to mind... :lol  finding one that's NOT broken, is hard enough... finding one that's complete and not broken, now that's even harder :lol !

after that, any transformer with gold plastic. or chrome, OR lots of parts, especially combiner limbs. like seacon's.

    Backstreet

I have a complete us g1 collection other then backstreet, (I refuse to buy him off ebay) but have not found him locally or even at botcon for 8 years straight (other then that wave of bootlegs from a few years back)

windsweeper is also just as hard to find.

Someone mentioned the Japanese figures, those Dinosaur cassettes or whatever they were (those are the Japanese G1 releases and not something else right?). I think Ratbat can be a bit hard to find intact (why people were happy to see a reissue) as well.

Complete Combiners too, thanks to all the little parts that go along with the five 'bots (or six, for Devastator). Shockwave too (I luckily got one intact and fully functioning).

Shockwave, Wheeljack, Thrust and Reflector are the hardest to find in good shape complete. Hound is another one that's hard to find complete. The mail away version of Megatron is rare and insanely expensive, like $500 minimum.

Victory Leo. I waited years to find a genuine complete MIB example. Most are missing a gun, or missiles, or they are all scratched up. But hey, it's a 20 year-old toy.

Overlord and Deszaras are even harder to find in mint condition.

I have 2 complete Roadbusters. The first I had for ages but the second was a surprise. My mum visited me one day and pulled some junk out of a box she had picked up from a yard sale. Inside - there he was, along with Divebomb to complete my Predaking.

People often mistake popular/desirable with hard-to-find e.g. Sunstreaker isn't that hard-to-find, he's just popular and so goes for lots of money.

Many of the later series figures, though perhaps less popular than the poster boys who made it into the cartoon, are actually A LOT harder to find. Some of the later Pretenders etc.
