Does anyone know of a fix to move G1 Grimlock's head forward so there is not such a massive gap between his chest and chin?

Do like the WST version does - add a slider for it.

There is no "easy" fix - you have to be willing to cut stuff apart.

His head is molded on, right? If it unscrews I just got an idea for another upgrade part...

I need to buy all the dinobots, it's a major hole in my G1 collection.

Grimlock's head is both screwed on and glued on, I believe.

Would anybody be able to sell me a junker Grimlock (or just the head assembly part) to try this with?

I've got a KO Grimlock now, and it looks like the slider part I want to make may be possible.

This is something I've actually done on a G1 Grimlock as part of an attempt to make him more articulated (he ended up with posable arms, a movable robot head that sits forward, a movable dino head, etc).

Anyway, if you have a Dremel, a Bionicle Lego ball joint/socket like this (preferably black/grey): http://img229.imageshack.us/img229/736/dscf4694a.jpg, and Green Stuff or some sort of modelling putty lying around, this is a pretty easy mod and better than a slider as it lets his head tilt up and down and look from side to side. If you're interested, I can get some pics of mine later but here's some quick guidance.

First cut off most of the grey Bionicle part in the above pic so you're left with just a peg on the ball piece, and half off the red piece around the hollow bit in the middle. Unscrew the Grimloock robot head from the bracket it's on and cut out enough of the chest in front of the head bracket to allow the Bionicle peg to fit through with some space to move. Widen the screw hole in the head to allow the peg to fit in and putty it into place. Once it's dry, connect it to the socket piece, place the socket in a position inside the chest where the ball joint/head can move freely and not obstruct the dino chest pieces in alt mode. Once you're happy with that, putty it into place and you're done!

Thanks for your idea. Would love to see some photos of yours.

In the meantime, does anyone have a Grimlock junker or a head assembly they don't want?
