    Hey all,

I am basically torn between selling my G1 Fort Max that is virtually bare with no accessories or HM's. But on the other hand I have got the Takara Fort Max Reissue on preorder at BBTS but that is gonna be $350+ when they get him in. So my story is should I just go ahead and sell my G1 and put the money toward the complete Takara version? Or should I just cancel the one on BBTS and hope one day I can complete my G1?.Thanks a Million Guys for your opinions.

That depends if he would rather have the vintage one then the reissue. It also factors in how much it would cost to make him complete and his condition.

IF your vintage one is yellowed, and missing most of the acc. then yes sell it and get the reissue. If he is just missing a few bits and is in good conditon then I say make him complete.

    Vintage over Reissue anyday ;)

I'd sell the old one. Fort Max parts are expensive as hell. I settled for some repro parts to finally complete mine earlier this year. It does the trick but nothing like the new minty fresh reissue will!

Keep the old one, even without parts, it should be fine in City mode (well you might want the arm ramps) and then you have a minty complete reissue for bot mode. heck you can use the reissue arm ramps on the one in city mode if you wanted to.

I'm gonna have to go with this - sure, you can probably complete him later on, but with the prices many of his accessories command, is it really worth it?

But even if you do sell him, the question is; do you sell him now while the reissue is not available yet, or wait until the reissue has sold out and it's prices begin to climb closer to that of the vintage one? Thing is, I don't think there's all that many people who're stickler about vintage vs. reissue - most of them would just rather own the toy in some form, reissue or not. You have to look at it from the buyer perspective; if you do not complete it, they will have to do it themselves. Then again, those that are into the vintage stuff probably enjoy that aspect.

I'd sell him and use the money towards the new one. If it was a nice, complete one especially with the box I'd say to hold it.

If your not really ( attached ) to it I'd say sell at is. Put whatever money you make on him toward the reissue. If you've had him since way back when I cld totally see you wanting to hold onto him.

For me personally I am not so attached to the vintage-ness as I am the memorable type, since I have quite a few reissues like Jazz,Prime, and Ricochet, and to me they suit me just fine even tho they ain't vintage. So as for G1 or Reissue Fort Max I don't care if I have either one,I just want one that is complete. Thanks again guys and I think I am going with the Reissue and selling my G1.Later Guys.

This it will likely cost you more for just the two headmasters then the Encore Fort max is selling for.

Being that the vintage one is incomplete, I'd sell it. Are the ramps and chest doors ok?? Only reason I could see keeping it is to have it in city mode with the reissue in bot mode.

Get just enough parts to display the vintage in city mode, and keep the pre-order for the re-release? I dunno. That's what I'd do anyways. Then you have two of the three modes covered. An awesome city, and a towering bot.

If vintage Vs Reissue isn't and issue and you can only have one or the other, I'd go for the reissue.

I lost the little red satellite on my brave max and didnt think anything of it. Until i saw it going on ebay for 50 bucks. Its gonna cost an arm and a leg to complete fort max with all original parts. Just something to consider.

bare original or complete reissue? reissue, if it were complete vs complete, it would be a no brainer and stick with vintage
