Most of the Autobots sound like made up names like Mudflap, Skid or Jolt. The only Autobots that are from G1 are: Optimus Bumblebee Ratchet Ironhide Jetfire Arcee Sideswipe This sound lame having only a few of the G1 Autobots. Do you think there should be more Autobots from G1 staring in the movie? Hopefully they are hiding more of the Autobots becuase they said there were around 40 robots and I counted 32 meaning there might be 8 left.
Mudflap was in Transformers Cybetron... look up his toy. Also, as someone said, Jolt was a mini con in Transformers Cybertron. The only made up Transformer name in the movie book/movie/toy/comic line of ROTF is Stratosphere and Scalpel. The rest are legit Transformers.
yeah i wish there were more g1 characters. and ive been thinking, that fan art of the soundwave/belkin could be hound if painted green
I think adding too many G1 Autobots might get silly, they need at least a few new characters to fill in the rolls. I think Hound, Kup and Springer should show up though.
And what's the point to have G1 names if they are going to change the personalities and change the essence of the characters? That being the case, I have no problem with new characters.
I think to get the movie franchise started yes, but now that the second one is upon us, I don't mind new characters. But I think you can expect some more G1 names in the 3rd one too.
i would want G1 names if say the characters looked like the g1 counterparts since they dont i dont mind all the diff names i like the variety!! at least we dont get a ravage that turns into a Jaguar(Car) stuff like that the names are good the way they are my only flaw with names is making names too similar ala Sideswipe and Sideways i will always get similar names confused unless there my fave character thast my only prob
Saying that there should be more G1 names in the movies is like saying that Optimus should have still been a truck in Beast Wars.
I'd extend that and say: Why should Transformers ALWAYS retread ground they've already covered, and in the exact same way?
As g1 nut, I like the mixture. I still think there are some that need to be included from G1....Shockwave & Wheeljack for starters. I would love to see Grimlock but not sure how they would pull that one off without fandom screaming bloody murder.
Hell, Bonecrusher had a sweet logo, too! Shame it was wasted on a bot that had little screen time (and we never see the logo on screen).
