In Swoop's defense at least his alt mode was based on something that lived at the same time as the dinosaurs.

As long as they are getting us something from the Triassic, Jurassic, or Cretaceous periods I don't feel too bad about some of Hasbro's choices for dinobots even if they aren't all dinosaurs. Permian or Tertiary era animals mixed in though gets the nit picky in me worked up.

After reading the wiki, Paddles, definitely Paddles.

For a pachycephalosaurus, a good name would probably be between Slammer and Smasher.

Paddles, though he DEFINITELY needs a less ******ed name.

I like his name. I remember reading his story in the legends anthology a few years back. He seemed so nice and innocent, I thought the name suited him. The gentle giant of the otherwise brutal Dinobots.

I guess. I suppose I'd be less annoyed by a Marine-Reptile or Terrorsaur being in the Dinobots than I would be if a Dimetrodon or Saber-Tooth Cat was in it.

I still think having a better characterised Tyrannitron would be fun. An angry little psycho who needs keeping on a leash. Might have to redo him as Nanotyrannus or a raptor to better suit his comparative size

    "Slauggernot"???

A "raptor-like" dinosaur would make sense, since they've been a very popular type since Jurassic Park. Back in the days of the old text-based online Transformers RPGs, there were a few additional Dinobot characters created by players. Stomp was an Ankylosaurus, and Syke was a raptor. "Stomp" is an okay name, though "syke" is sort of trying too hard.

Not only that, but they were pathetically small.

No killer ducks! Deinonychus all the way. :thumb

Agreed. "Splash" is better than "Paddles" (as cute as Paddles sounds), and you really need to stick with the naming theme that was used for the original Dinos.

For some reason, I like the sound of "Sneer". :)

If not technically a dinosaur... though I'd still give it honorary dinosaur status, at least.

A dimetrodon or saber tooth would be great if Hasbro ever decided to revisit Beast Wars. But I agree they just don't fit in with the dinobots.

A revisit to Beast Wars but with more prehistoric beasts rather than current animals would be cool.

The problem is that neither "Deinonychus" nor "Utahraptor" sound nearly as cool as "Velociraptor". The genuine articles were chicken-sized. Fortunately there are numerous other related, almost identical dinosaurs who have some size on them, so the "Velociraptor-like" Dinobot idea doesn't have to be a total wash. :)

Velociraptor is cool, just wish a velociraptor toy will come out.
