pen prime at least has a decent looking g1 bot mode.... can't say the same for this.. what if he is not Optimus , just some unknown bot that can transform into a watch holder for g shock....i wonder how many would still be excited for this?

Obviously nobody would give a shit. Hence them making Optimus. That was a rather obvious rhetorical.

Couldn't agree more - I found myself in possession of a Rolex earlier this year under weird circumstances and I wore it for like a month before I got sick of its mechanism. Seiko makes the only automatic watches I can depend on, otherwise I'm quartz all the way.

I don’t mind winding my Omega since I only wear that once in awhile and there’s something about trying to get the timing right to the second on a nice mechnical.

I'm sure part of it has to do with my poor Oyster needing to get serviced (someday, after I sell a few guitars maybe) but even when it was working something just felt different to me about it. Granted it's literally the third automatic watch I'd ever owned, and the only one of them that isn't a Seiko diver (and I know Japanese movement is way different anyway) so I probably just got too impatient with it. Wouldn't be the first time I've been accused of that. :lol

Seiko have got to be the best bang for your buck, by FAR. Strip away the fancy name, and they kick ass.

My 1978 Oyster had to get serviced last year....$970. So yeah, I don't blame you for holding out...

At least your Rolex still function; my grandpa left me his that he bought over 40 years ago, I tried winding it but it only moved for a minute before it stops (when I walk around with it of course).

My first "real" (or at least "automatic and more than $50") watch was a Seiko and I can see myself owning a ton more of them in the future. I have an old Diver that I specifically just wear when my band plays concerts and it's never given me a second of trouble. Every once in a while I think about flipping my Rolex and buying a few more Seikos with the money but I like being able to tell people I own a Rolex even if I can't wear it that often :lol

Yeah, that sounds pretty common, especially with a watch that old. I'm sure you could get it fixed, but it's gonna be super expensive even at a not-Rolex repair place. I'm sure your grandpa is just glad you still have it. :)

Poking around on Yahoo Japan auctions, they're selling for under $450, but I have no idea how to buy from there or figure out shipping.
