Cool hope u do an in-depth review and post here!
I will for sure post lots of pics and a review! Unless someone else does one first, then I'll just add anything I feel different about or anything I feel is missing.
I had 5170 showz points and had $150 set aside for him, so I got him for like $30 out of pocket....
sigh looks really good.. need those english review desperately
I don't think it's much a language issue with so many of the recent video uploads we've seen for this and dozens of other offerings. Granted, it could be my lack of understanding of the language, but so many of the Chinese reviews seem to just ramble on and on and don't seem to put as much direct focus or emphasis in many of their videos, especially when you see the extended recording times with minimal editing. Alternatively, take someone like Wotafa, where I know almost zero Japanese, but he puts so much visual and audible emphasis on what he's talking about and even physically shows what he's referring to so much that you almost don't need to know any of the vocabulary (to be fair, there are more than a few words and descriptions that are the same in English and Japanese, so that should be considered as well).
All depends on what they're trying to show off. The videos for this guy seem more intent on showing off the engineering, details, and assembly, rather than the finished product like Wotafa et-al do. Not understanding the language makes the former a lot harder to follow, which is a shame at times because I'm genuinely curious about these "new techniques' that G-Creation developed for this guy.
Big difference between "Notice how this joint is hinged" and "His arm moves like this", even if they're both addressing the same pieces.
As much as I love my Dinos, unfortunately, I just can’t see this is as a must buy for the majority of fans at this price point. If this were a main character in the movies I could see their optimism in sales, but for GCreations to believe this figure is worth this much compared to say T 08 Megatron @ $80 or even Toyworld Knight Orion @ $160, I think they’re going be quite disappointed with their return in sales. They would be better off pricing it lower to attract more buyers and get their product out there rather than profiting on those who must have this at any cost.
Looks like he skipped leg day
awesome either way. Wish I was rich
Anyone but Ben please!
I know Japanese and Wotafa is a joy to watch. He is very thorough and always enthusiastic. You're right though I don't think you need to know as much of what he's saying to follow along (even I don't catch every single thing he says), but the Chinese reviewers always seem to talk a LOT and show off the product only a little. I remember how excited I was when a video of 3A's TLK Optimus came out that was almost an hour long! When we hadn't seen any video of the figure yet! And release was still many months away! Aaaaaand it was in Chinese and they BARELY showed off the figure. It was mostly just sitting there on a table while 3 guys talked for a long time. They didn't even show off all the articulation or accessories.....it was the only video we had for like half a year.
EXACTLY!!!! Is it because they need more words to say the same or is there another reason?
Alot of the time the chinese reviewers spend alot of time discussing the proper ways to play and move some of the parts so that people dont end up breaking an expensive toy. People dont understand the language and think they are just talking too much. Then they break their toy and trash the company.
This figure looks pretty good, but the price tag.... is it seriously $240? That’s ridiculous at this size... I just don’t see it.....
Price varies a bit, but the cheapest I recall seeing recently was about $217USD shipped via DHL from OhMyPrimus. Not sure if TaoBao has any cheaper offerings, but it would seem like combined shipping with other purchases might be some of the only savings, if any.
Talking about it is pointless if you don't show it. Or else I would read a text review (easier to get away with at work anyways hehe).
It's definitely too expensive. But I bent over backwards to justify it because....well I want it! And I'll sell if it sucks.
watched the vid, something got my attention on hand articulation.
at minute 31.00 it seems like the wrist articulation can't hold the main weapon other than straight up vertical pose? the guy who review it keep holding the hand manually. if its true, for me thats kinda bum
The head of the polearm mace seems to be largely die cast. It could be that the friction joints of the elbow can't handle that weight too far away from the body unassisted.
Oh god that's heavy. Btw, i measured my SS devy and apparently he only weighs about 1.7kg (assuming that my scale is fine.)
There was a lot of die cast on the mace, waist skirt, and legs of both modes.
He sounds like he'll be SOLID.
7lbs, that sounds like a pile of bull, but if it isn't, it can be used as a weapon.
