Anyone else think that Activision should give the next Transformers game to Beenox? I can really see a transformers game with the gameplay and open-world ness like The amazing spiderman except without the swinging Thoughts?
Open-world is always delightful for giant robots, but, regardless of who does it, I'd prefer a Transformers game returns to the gameplay style of ROTF. That was a game, I felt, that really envisioned the dynamic action of gigantic robots fighting each other; each robot had unique talents and weapons, they all had a variety of special techniques revolving around their alternate mode and different characters had different strengths and weaknesses to further spice up a team dynamic. Also the campaign shenanigans were hilarious; after every mission we got to see the robots gather around and natter with each other, contemplating how well they did and commenting on this and that. The Autobots were friendly and joking with each other, the Decepticons spend half their time insulting and throwing shit at each other, it was great. While it didn't have a grand campaign not the glorious WfC Escalation, gameplay-wise, I found ROTF a much more invigorating experience than the later games.
I would love a good turned based strategy game too. Maybe one based on the XCom engine. There is a simple G1 cell phone turned based game, but it's not that great.
