Sadly @Awesomepow is leaving so i am taking over the funnies awards The Funnies Awards began in 2009, and the 2012 thread is still pinned at the top of the forum, which was the last until 2018. The awards were brought back by @Mr. Chaos in 2018, but they never returned for last Winter (2018-19). We are going to adhere strictly to the rules from 2018 as to not cause confusion. I'll paste @Mr. Chaos ' thread here. Also: Note: I know this is about 3 weeks earlier than the 2017-18 season, but I figured a head start would allow creators to get in more content. I will be as transparent as possible in the process to make sure that all the votes are counted and that there is one vote per person, your first vote. How do you vote? PM me with the subject "Funnies Awards 2019-20" and select your picks for each category, along with what funnies thread and author. Now, without further ado, here's the information! You can choose any photocomic on TFW2005 as long as the requirements are met. In 2012 there was an idea. To bring together all the readers and creators on this forum and celebrate the best of the best in webcomics. It was bold, it was brilliant... but after one year the awards faded away. They were forgotten, ignored, left to be little more than a sticky thread that no one paid attention to anymore. The forum continued on, creators coming and going, milestones achieved, and yet the awards never returned for a second year. Then they came back in 2018, missing 2019. Now, they shall return. To quote the great philosopher of our time... "Fine...I'll do it myself" -Thanos These awards will be fun for all involved. We will be honoring new comics, old comics, great characters, and have a lot of fun. This year we will be present awards in 20 categories. The criteria to be nominated is that the comic must have been updated at least 3 times in before January 4, 2020 and the character must have appeared in at least 3 updates before January 4, 2020. Adding updates to qualify after Feburary 18th will not suffice. A trash can a ham sandwich candy a video game controller ETC. June 1st: Initial Ballots will be tabulated by myself and the final ballot created June 5th: Final Ballots will released for public voting July 5th: Final Ballot results tabulated by myself July 6th: The Funnies Awards Opening Ceremonies 2 winners will be announced every day until all are announced : (NEW) Whoever achieves the popular vote (the most votes across different categories) will be announced and they shall receive a trophy PNG. The winners for the 30 categories will each receive a Funnies Award graphic ribbon listing your username and date. You can post the award in your thread. This will arrive through PM under "Your Funnies 2019-20 Trophy". There is no restriction on how many times you are nominated. Why should we stop you from winning 3 categories? Why should we stop you from winning again next year? If you keep winning, then that means your photocomic is really good! Regulations: To keep things fair here are a few guidelines: 1- Bribing of viewers for votes will be frowned upon. There were claims back in 2012 that creators were trying to gain votes by threatening to remove characters or do epic events but only if they won. While this was in good fun for the creators who did it some saw this as trying to rig the vote. As such while it won't remove you from contention I do ask all creators to be honorable to each other. If there is strong evidence of bribery, your vote and (if you have) photocomic will be invalidated from being voted on. 2- The decisions reached are final and not up for debate. I will share the ballots if forced to but will not tolerate people attacking me if your comic didn't win. Please be civil. If you are not, you will be reported for such behavior and then it is up to TFW2005 on what to do with you. 3- Please use this thread to discuss the awards but please don't put your ballots up here. I ask this only because it might influence others... for example, if they see Comic A has a ton of votes they might choose to nominate Comic B, not realizing Comic C and D are beating A and by not going with their first choice A is left out of the Final Ballot. DO NOT PUBLICIZE YOUR VOTE. 4- Have fun! You are welcome to post strips and panels here reacting to the awards and, if your comic wins, post your acceptance speech and victory dance. 5- Please try to send all your nominations for a specific voting period at once. That doesn't mean you can't send individually, but I would prefer if you think on it or come up with a list and then send it in, which is easier thanks to the larger voting period. This is just more courteous to me because this is not computer-run and I have to track every vote. Additionally, I added more voting time and made the announcing time shorter. If anyone has any conflict with the schedule let me know before January 4th and we may be able to fix it. If I make any mistakes, please let me know. Also feel free to add suggestions. If I have a scheduling conflict due to any unforeseen circumstance, I will reschedule as soon as possible. Remember that, like I said, this is not computer-run.
