AFAIK, outside of some unusual examples, most Funko pops are more for display "statues" that you put on shelves, looking nice and that's all you can do, while the Nendoroid Starscream is part of Good Smile Company's Nendoroid line. Nendoroids are usually pricier and smaller than your average domestic Funkos, but they also include a bunch of swappable limbs, accessories, and a clear stand just straight OOB for a greater display option, and they're pretty well-sculpted and has better paint QC than even the most premium of Funkos. And that's not even getting into the pricier Nendoroid releases (Like the Iron Man Mark 85 and Dr. Strange Endgame Ver. DX above), which comes with a ton more extras than their standard releases for greater display options.
I've bought a few Nendoroids before, but it's been a while. I had no interest in Funkos, until a friend gave me a small one of Bob Ross. But I wish that Funko fails because of this...travesty.
Oh, Normalized Frequent Thievery but now in a different flavor of hyperlink with a price tag. This is TOTALLY what I want in a franchise... /j
I'm *begging* you to learn about MLM's/pyramid schemes. Because you sound like an absolute mark who is desperately trying to convince someone (including yourself) all of these stupid apes and smoking pixel dudes you're stuck with are actually worth something. Shit, the cinnamon challenge was "so hot and expanding everywhere" at one point. Maybe you want to play the hot new choking game while you're at it?
Just like I said about Funko Pops and Beanie Babies, this could also still function as a toy. A kid with an imagination could still play with this and have fun with it. A kid could play with a rock and still cherish it years later. A kid could play with a true turd like Airachnid’s Deluxe toy and still enjoy it. NFT’s are about as far from a crappy toy as you could get.
It's just another version of owning a digital version of TF the Movie 86 or the physical media that carries it. Plain and simple. Hard copies always win!
I've already told you, I don't own any NFTs and am not interested in them. I don't get the point of a piece of digital artwork. It's not my thing, but neither do I begrudge anyone who wants to participate in them. And you can choose to believe me or not, but yes I *do* know a guy who made a little over a million dollars last year just off of creating NFTs. (No, I'm not giving his name out, especially here, he gets enough hate mail for how he chose to make his living last year.) And he knows a lot of other professional artists who made little doing comics and now they're actually making a pretty good amount of money drawing NFTs instead. It's worth to you what you are willing to pay. I've spent a lot of money on TFs and have no desire to sell any of them. Doesn't mean a lot of them aren't worth what I paid to me. Some of them are worth more on the open market, I would assume, some a lot more, some less. Doesn't matter to me, I don't buy things for their resale value. Maybe, just maybe, a lot of people buying digital art aren't buying them to resell them either.
For the idiot in the group that I am .... can someone please explain what NFTs are and why they get so much hatred? I\'m truly confused
A NFT is basically just a digital picture that people pay money for. Oftentimes, you can just google search it yourself and save it to your PC/Laptop/Phone. And then there's the pictures that you probably couldn't find with a Google search. People have paid upwards of thousands for 10s of thousands for NFTs. Here's an article that said one sold for $70 million. The 15 Most Expensive NFTs Ever Sold - Decrypt If you're interested in NFTs, here's at least a few articles you can read. Yes, Your NFTs Can Go Missing—Here's What You Can Do About It Everything you need to know about NFTs Are they worth it? I guess that depends on the person. But you won't catch me paying anyone any amount of money for a digital picture, that's not only intangible, but stored somewhere digitally whether I can Google search said picture or not. I don't care what kind of "unique ID" it has. If it can be hacked (which blockchains CAN be), it can be stolen/altered, etc. To me, there's just way better uses for your money. Especially these days.
