You’d think so, but actually you’re wrong here, BeastBot. Or rather Hasbro got it wrong first. See, Optimash Prime is G1 based and BumbleSpud is Movie based. But these designs are more Evergreen based designs. If you go to the TFWiki page on Potato head, you can see these are actually based on the “Mr PotatoHead As…” iterations that came later, where they decided to give them boring names. So as awful as they are, they do actually have the correct, if awfully boring, names.

Ok, let me get this: It's a Funko Pop figure of a Transformers themed Mr. Potato Head that's also an NFT.

    What?

Unless someone has a cure for the human condition, people will buy into this.

It’s more that I misremembered Optimash Prime’s name(I thought they were Optimus Spud for some reason), went to the TF Wiki page, and discovered the revelation that they were based on a different toy to what I was thinking, and had to share this shocking revelation.

Which makes these toys kinda weirder. They’re not based on the 07/09 toys that are more likely to be held fondly in the memories of potential buyers, but 2014 toys.
But eh, they combine something I’m kinda repulsed by (Funko Pops) with something I utterly despise (NTF). I was slightly interested because I thought they were based on a toy I got over a decade ago for a laugh, but they didn’t even get that right.
I’ll stick to the Nendoroids and Model Kits I’m used to…

I see in their rush to embrace the nft scam funko have missed the memo and misgendered zem/ze/zer also, this clown world never ceases to disappoint when you think it's gone far enough, no it can always go further, bring back the simpler days of my childhood or even 10 years ago

Hell, I still own mine! And if that's all this was, then all right. But with the fucking NFT bullshit? That makes this entire thing garbage.

The figure I might want. I always did have a soft spot for other characters cosplaying as Transformers but the NFT? Funko can keep that with my blessing cause I sure as hell don't want it.

I can't believe Optimash Prime is old enough to be considered "retro". I feel old.

Such a shame. If I'm going to play the lottery, I'll buy a ticket. I can at least lose on it and have only spent a buck. This is just a bad idea. I know they want to make money, but this just isn't my bag. Shame, I liked the Prime and Bumblebee. Oh, well.

It’s worse than that, these are clearly not based on Optimash Prime and BumbleSpud, but the 2014 releases. Look at the body designs, they match up perfectly with the 2014 toys, just check the Potato Head page on TF Wiki. For starters, 2009 BumbleSpud was Movie Bumblebee, while this is more the Evergreen design. They’re considering 2014 retro, or have their wires crossed.

They're considering Mr Potato Head and Transformers both retro properties, not necessarily the 2014 crossover they lifted the design from
