Gonna guess its a super limited run since I doubt many will go for this. Fanstoys knows their market rather well.

It’s another company that FT is allowing to release this, for some weird reason, but also will have no after sales service. So it looks bad, is crazy expensive and if there’s a problem with it you’re out of luck!

So fanstoys is allowing them to manufacture it but they're being sold under the fanstoys brand? Fanstoys made a clear quakewave in the past too.

And here i am just waiting for another run of FT-10 or FT-10X, which will probably never happen. I only started collecting a few months ago and never had the chance to get one.

I'll never see the interest in clear figures unless they originally had that gimmick in the show. And for nearly $500? Yikes.

Yeah, LX Soft or something is the actual company, and just keeping the FT name also on the box. It’s pretty weird but DalianJJ said it’s just a small run of 900 and FT are hands off for it.

So basically the customer is paying two companies for 1 figure... hence the $460 price tag. Sucks to see FT choosing this path

The $460 price tag isn’t paying for 2 companies, it’s paying for an overpriced clear figure that is pointlessly being made in a limited quantity with no customer service, because they know people will buy anything they serve up.

I guess it's basically the equivalent of whales in a mobile games. Instead of releasing larger quantities of the regular version at a lower price that more people will buy, they know they can suck more money from a small group of fans who have endless pockets for this kind of thing.

It seems like the situation is that one shop puts in an order of 500 units, so FansToys is willing to produce it for them?

    The shop is reselling them.

That's why there is no after-sales service.

Showz has always provided after sales service, and so does FT. This is a first for both to not offer it for an FT figure. There is no after sales support because FT deemed it that way.

They have some kind of relationship. If you go to the LX Soft website (which is originally for a museum/store (I think now it's a museum) of a collector, Liu Xin's private collection, probably a friend of Dalianjj), you will see that I has a FT logo. In the FT Weibo, there was a picture of a 2017 "exhibition" or something in the museum in which FT participated, together with other companies.

Maybe this is FT letting the museums get some money.

It's marketed at approx USD400 here in Asia. And yes, many are wondering "who is this for" as well.

It is paying two companies, because FT will charge a license fee to LX Soft. This is then in the cost structure of LX Soft which it needs to charge more to still make a profit.

They may not charge a license if they are doing it to a friend (or if they are tryinng to check if they can sell using a different channel).

No, you are paying three companies because you have to add in the retailers who gets to make money. No, wait, four companies because the freight company that delivers it has to get paid so that gets added to the price. Maybe five companies if they outsource it to another manufacturer who has to make their money. So, potentially five companies, but then you have to add in the wages of the individual workers whose cost has to be built in. So five companies and maybe 10-15 workers.

Is that level of detail of all the parties sufficient and accurate enough? Or perhaps the details of the supply chain is completely irrelevant and consumers are always paying a cost that accounts for the supply chain and various business arrangements are so it’s just stupid to call it out on this or any figure.
