    Wow a Free Comic Book Day where they give out nothing I want. That hasn't happened in a while.

    Cool, I'm glad IDW is going to release a comic for the TMNT tv show but I would've like a free Transformers comic like last year.

    It's a promotional event wherein retailers give select comic books away to customers in an effort to hook them into buying more comics in the future as well as rewarding their current customer base. It's been supported a lot by comic book companies in recent years, giving retailers teaser comics or lead-ins to major events at a heavy discount. Retailers also use it as a time to give away older issues of their inventory etc.

    I wish my comic shop gave me more comics as a reward. This year, they only let me pick up 7 FCBD comics.

    The only one I'm interested in is the walking dead and maaaybe Hulk Agents of Smash. I haven't went to free comic book day in a couple years.

    Wow. Only Superman jumps out at me. And even then only because it's supposed to have a preview of the new Snyder/Lee series...

    I don't know why you guys expect another TF comic. They rotate the lineup based on introducing readers to new series or upcoming reprints of classic stuff. Last year was TF, a few years back was GIJoe. This year TMNT. Vary the product to attract new readers.

    Archie consistently gets me to grab their freebie Sonic titles, mostly because I'm a die hard fan who will collect everything Sonic, that Sonic/Mega Man Flip Book thing looks pretty neat, especially the way the cover shows artwork based on sprites, perhaps it will include 8 Bit Sonic and 16 Bit Mega Man meeting or something.

    Might get the TMNT freebie just because, not sure yet and for some odd reason that Tinker Bell freebie is strangely attracting my free swag meter.

    Ah well, I'll be there bright and early that day for free comics, I mean seriously you're getting stuff for FREE and you're supporting your local comic retailer by showing up and maybe picking up some stuff at discount or something. Why wouldn't you want to support your local retailer?

    I'll get the Walking Dead one on Comixology; doesn't look like anything else worth bothering with.

    Kind of a shame IDW isn't doing a TF one, as the TF series are better than ever and a MTMTE FCBD issue would be the perfect thing to get some more people hooked. Maybe next year...

    Free Comic Book Day - What To Pick Up?

    So I guess Free Comic Book Day is on May 4th. Last year was my first time shopping during FCBD, and my jump back in to comics after a long hiatus. The only current series I am reading are Transformer related.

    What are some good titles to pick up, from the free releases? Here is a list of everything.
