I'm glad you finally got it. :)

In any case, I didn't know there was still any demand for it. The page has been down for over two months now with no trace of the recreated site that was promised. If anyone else wants to mirror the siterips I made or provide free webhosting in order to create a fully functional version of the page, they're more than welcome to do so.

I promised to host the content a while ago, but things keep coming up. So I now make a second promise - that I will host these files THIS weekend! Mark your calendars.

I need to modify the files to get rid of all the geocities crap and the convert the links from absolute to relative, but it's nothing a good Linux environment can't handle. I'll keep you guys posted.

    Yes, people, do this. :)

For the record, my previous post wasn't meant to blow off Notorious BIC's helpfulness. He just had the misfortune of posting a response while I was still working on mine. :redface2:

Seems to all be there, just lost yet another hour or so having a 'quick' look round!

No one maintains it. It's just a mirror of what was up at the old Geocities. It's missing a lot of pictures too.

    Sorry for the thread resurrection...

The only images I found missing were simple line separators, hardly anything noteworthy. That being said, I haven't checked all pages, but it seems to be all there for the Prime variants, Japanese and Euro exclusives pages.

    Thread necromancy!

I'm checking the wayback, reocities and oocities versions to see what's missing from the Optimus Prime section. Thus far, the "supercharged roller" sub-page is missing from wayback, but not oocities or reocities. The oocities version has no images, but reocities does. The Powered Convoy and Korean TF pages seem to be missing from all three.

I hope this site gets back up soon.
I'm working on documenting new variations in 1984-85 Decepticon plane parts and decals.

I've managed to collect a few sheets showing a difference in the cut style of the Decepticon symbols (from sharp-cornered, like the box photos, to round-cut). Not only are the original 3 like this (I have SS and SW wings with the sharp cuts, and TC's on the sheet), but the later 3 share this oddity as well (I have 2 RJ sheets sharp cut, 1 round cut, and Thrust & Dirge wings with sharp-cut labels as well as round.)

    -- Cybertronian.

Ironically, I bought my sheets to decal a pair of custom Seekers, before I got the variant-collecting bug.

Hey guys, since I said I'd post an update if I ever got one, and as the thread is continually resurrected with people who have been trying to keep the variant information Fred & crew had collected over the years alive...

Fred's preparing to officially relaunch Freds Workshop & the Variquest tonight at midnight (6/22/2011)!
