After 2 agonizing months of mysterious bites popping up on my arms, legs and back and me itching to the point of bleeding every day WHILE TAKING SCOLDING HOT SHOWERS 4 TIMES A DAY to relieve the itching, and seeing my PCP not once but 3 times, I discovered a fucking Bed Bug infestation behind my mattress. F-F-F-F-FUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!

I had just laid down tonight when I felt something bite me on my hand. I had had enough, I quickly turned on the light and examined my sheets and that's when I saw the little vampires running from the light.

I knew there was something wrong, I KNEW IT!!! but people just kept telling me I just had dry skin. Nobody believed me. not the doctor, my wife, NOBODY.

Now, after stripping all my bedding and having vaccumed all of the infested areas, I got them all, we are washing all my bedding when we wake up, and I'm having my room bombed or whatever the hell it takes.

Any other tips would be nice. Has anybody else experienced this horrible thing. :(

I feel your pain. Last year, we had an infestation eradicated. The worst part? They've been known to strike again but we haven't had any recurrences thankfully. On top of it all, my sister had an ant infestation in her room at the same time. Probably because she used to store opened, rotting Skittles in her cabinet all the time. Poor mom though, the bed bugs' nest was in the corners of her bed frame.

Thankfully the main area by my bed that was infested was a pretty small area. so they couldn't have been there long. and so very glad I found them when i did, and not wait for 6-8 months like some folks. I've seen some horrifying bedbug photos ugh! so much worse than what I had on my body.

Had an occurrence myself. 1000000% Recommend a product called Diatomaceous Earth. It's like a fine powder that you mist on areas where you might have them. While it's harmless to people, it cuts through bugs like razor blades causing them to die of dehydration.

Just one question. How is it you got bites and your wife, in the same bed, didn't?

Excuse the ignorance I do not know the Bedbug lifestyle.

They tend to prefer one person to the other, also some people are non reactive to the bites. The same thing happened to me. I was COVERED in bites and my wife was not bitten at all or had no reaction

thanks for understanding guys. I live in a 2 story apartment complex, so we had this feeling it was just a matter of time before we got them. everybody was getting them except us.

It's like Scorpion said. For some reason that's just the way it is. I don't know why these things do what they do. they are monsters, that's all I know.

Shoot you would ask that...hang on.

Pronto Plus Bedbugs/Dust Mites Pesticide, 10 oz: Home Health Care : Walmart.com

Hot Shot Bedbug and Flea Killer - Walmart.com

Also get a mattress protector and I would spray that too. Best of luck those things can be tricky to get rid of.

Believe it or not Mosquitos react to certain blood types chemically, so I would imagine that bed bugs are the same.

put some doublesided tape around the legs of your bed, and make sure there's a distance between it and the wall, that might help you track down where the infestation is.

Don't just wash your bedding, BOIL it. If you have a pressure steamer, use that as well.

Good luck though, bedbugs are tenacious little beasties.

    Ewwwwwwww!

Man, I would be seriously grossed out if that happened to me. Sorry to hear about your predicament!

That's why I like Maine. All our cold weather keeps most bugs at bay. Except for the damn mosquitos and black flies, that is...

The only real way you're gonna get rid of these is to have the complex call in a specialist. I went through a similar experience and did everything I could to get rid of them, but had no luck. Dealt with those and ticks.
