Wow, I went on vacation with no internet and cellphone and I miss all of the TF news. Fansproject seems to not disappoint you. I'm loving this....
Ah, ok. That explains all the confusion here. Still doesn't explain Vangelus' Twitter page comment. Are they just worried that fans will have expectations upon seeing some of those early designs? And I suppose you can't go into more detail about how that Fin extension works?
He pantomimed attaching the fin extension on, he didn't actually do it. As to his twitter comment, you'd have to ask him. I saw one, made of resin, to scale with other TMs, with seats for one in the gun emplacement and in the Roller. He was vague about if and how the TM would be released, mentioning the possibility of a seperate set. Bear in mind how overwhelming to the senses a convention can be. I can't answer a lot of follow-up questions that have been put to me, especially about stuff in the panels. I was talking with some of the crew about this, how everything you see that you like is surrounded by an aura of awesome in your memory after just a short while.
Yeah the guy was very vague about the details, it's also hard to be 100% about something when all you have to go off of is a resin cast.
There is a large degree of separation there, what with Dirge being mostly a copy of Takara's toolings, and with Protector here being a wholly original work that need you to buy an official figure to function.
Apparently guard convoy considers it laudable to make a profit on Hasbro's IP, but objectionable to do so by copying their engineering. (I'm not trying to be snarky against ANYONE here, I'm just sussing out what the difference is.)
This will get interesting if the crystal classic rodimus gets released like its animated counterpart, will be there be enough demand for a crystal protector set to be produce by Fansprojects?
I'm heavily considering buying that Sons of Cybertron set due to that possibility. It would be pretty awesome having a "Matrix glow" Rodimus.
I'm all over this, it looks amazing, almost as good as City Commander. I'm glad I was able to acquire Rodimus for a decent enough price, thanks to daelite20 here for hooking me up.
OMG this will ruin all hopes of HAS/Tak releasing something like this!!!1!1! Cool little set here. Nice job.
I wasn't too excited about this kit until BotCon. Once you get a good look at this thing, it puts the City Commander to shame. The wing extenders do it for me. I really thing the wings on the back of Rodimus are what make his design so iconic, and the wings on Henkei Hot Rod don't really stick out too much. It's the little details like this, and the engine part that becomes the new head that just make FansProjects stick out from the rest. Thanks for the video review.
On behalf of GC, I'll email Hasbro about this: Dear Hasbro, You just got pwn'd. Look at how much I'll pay for a real Rodimus Prime. You are AssClowns. Eat Me Always, Deez Nutz PS... Power Core Combiners suck Explorer and Munitioner's bawls.
you are the man i couldnt have said it better, i am so disgusted with hasbro, how is it 25years later and we still have no pile drivers for frenzy rumble? ( i do, thanks MAIDENJAPAN)
