Wow. That's insane! Seeing how it absolutely overshadows Superion, I wonder if they'll look into making two new plane molds for that set. I have no doubt they could easily do so and I don't see why Bruticus should be the only combiner getting mad love from these guys. I can't get over how awesome that looks!

That's if there are any intact asses left to kick after he's done unleashing all of his firepower. Twin shotguns, two over-the-shoulder cannons, a giant anti-tank rifle, blaster fingertips, and the likelihood of cluster missiles in his toes?

'Bots are in for a world of pain...

It's amazing. Swindle and Blast-off look so official. They totally blend in with the ROTF/Energon set and I think the add-on parts really help bring them all together aesthetically. It's great that FP Bruticus almost towers over FP Superion.

I asked that question wrong. Why is he brown only partly brown, the top half of the shuttle is brown and the bottown is grey. It looks a little odd. It's a cool looking figure and all, but the coloring looks a little off.

I'm sorry, as great as the addons are (and I have them pre-ordered), I am very-very upset about the colors of the parts that go to Onslaught. Why on Earth did they choose the whole set to be in the colors of the ROTF/Classics Bruticus, which looks NOTHING in color like G1 Bruticus? I was hoping they just used those in the photos because they could not get the superior Energon versions...

I mean, Energon Barricade looks EXACTLY like G1 Onslaught, color-wise, while the Classics version in black and brown is just ugly. I never thought they'd base their stuff on that version...

Granted, it's nothing I cannot repaint for myself, but nonetheless it's a bother.

Wow, I can't wait for this set now. Those pics are FANTASTIC. Now I have to deicde which set I am going to use. I have to dig out both sets anyhow, however my Energon set is already open and I never got around to opening the ROTF set.

They're using the RotF colours because that's the set that's most readily available. Makes the most sense, from a business perspective. Why make a product that only works with an item that your target audience has to go well out of their way to find?

Sounds like you've just been getting your hopes up too much. Don't think many other people believed for a second that this set would be Energon-oriented.

This came up in the previous thread, but this Explorer/Blast Off design is based off an unmanned spacecraft design from NASA, and the real vehicle's colours are almost exactly like that, except white instead of brown. So it looks odd, but there's a reason for it.

alternators is exactly how not to do something like this.
when they say it was not a sucess, I don't beleive them. by todays corporate standards, "not a commercial success" probably means that alternators broke even.

Well, the Ultra Magnus armor set was based on a figure (Classics Voyager Magnus) that was only available as a store exclusive, and long out of production when the set appeared, so I don't see why not.

That said, it's not a dealbreaker for me. I already have some olive green paint for another project, and simple grey will do fine for the heads/fists. The crotch-plate and the feet I will paint different shades of grey as well, since that's how they looked on the G1 toy too.

BTW, if anyone wants to trade an Energon Kickback for Energon Blight, PM me! I have bought him once, but after seeing the colors in person I became convinced Kickback is a better stand-in for Brawl with the red face especially.

Yeah, well I'm not cancelling my pre-order for that.

    How so?

And if all their lines did nothing more than break even, how long do you think Hasbro would've lasted? By ANY day's corporate standards, profit = continued business.
