I won't even redbox another of the bayverse movies.
IIRC, Wahlberg signed on for The Last Knight and it's sequel. So we have Transformers Universe: Bumblebee, Transformers: One, The Last Knight's sequel and another unknown film.
Indeed. And you don't even have to look far for an example. Hasbro's own G. I. Joe.
Possibilities were endless with such a property, yet a lot of bad decisions and the fact that parents tend to stay away from real-world conflicts made sure Hasbro won't re-attempt for another 5+ years. Even the upcoming reboot is said to be using M.A.S.K as a crutch.
Not necessarily, there is already talk of rebooting the Resident Evil movies and the last one came out last year. I think it's entirely possible that the studio would reboot 3 years or so after the movies start failing.
The Last Knight will probably be the first TF movie I skip in the theater. I'll wait for DVD. My kids are more excited about seeing Cars 3 and I can only afford to take them to see a few movies.
Keep them coming
This doesn't surprise me, considering much more money these films make.
Cool. Always lookin' forward to more of the movies.
So I don't get why you are wasting your time in a movie thread then?
My thoughts? Kill it now, true believers.
How do they expect us to raise domestic sales if they barely even market the film here?
I'm excited for this movie, and hope it turns out as good as the trailers, but holy hell do they need to end! The bay movies started getting stale by DotM, and everything just keeps getting staler. Hell, the toylines are increasingly becoming redecoes and one-step changers! Either just kill the movies or just reboot everything (especially the character designs.)
A lot of people have different opinions on the movies but just give them one last chance with The Last Knight (pun intended )! I mean we have a whole team of writers behind it and they are going into a new direction while keeping the feeling of the movies. Every TF fan should watch TLK in theatres because its not going to be like all the other TF movies. They spend so much time learning the history of the transformers and are doing some really cool stuff from what we see in the trailers and we also have a new cinematographer who knows how to make movies look beautiful. So please just give the franchise one last chance!
The Last Knight will be the last TF movie I see just because it's a TF movie. If the writers room doesn't show an immediate improvement, I don't think I'll be wanting to keep up with a new TF movie every year.
Wasn't there talk about a Chinese Transformers film where the Iron Monkey story was to be retconn as a Transformer film?
There\'s gonna be *NINE* of these movies?
I\'m not sure whether to be annoyed, indifferent or overjoyed.
So then you've lost the right to come to the boards and complain. How can you criticise what you don't watch? It's like all the people who call the films worse things that you find on these boards, how can you know that a film is bad unless you watch them? And how can you then ask how the films make money? Sure, some haters have kids who they have to take to see the films but that isn't every single hater out there.
Goddamn, look at that sad domestic box office return! And international is entirely relying on the appeal of high-end special effects considering all of the promotion for AoE in China isn't happening this time around.
But after films like Warcraft, what made AoE so special may not be enough for TF5 to break a billion.
I have mixed feelings about this.
I think it's cool, but this smacks of the MCU trend and we're just getting one film after another with that series.
