Man, right when I thought I got out of the TF collecting game, they reel me back in with this.

Look at the receipt, it says a Ross in Oceanside.

This is insulting to loyal customers who purchased it at full price.

No it isn't. Stuff goes on sale and clearance all the time. It happens, and if someone paid full price at some point at least they have it without having to hunt.

Fort Max being at discount stores will be available within a very small window of opportunity. I doubt any store will get more than one or two to sell, and compared to the number of people that already got it for full price, Amazon sale price ($80-ish) or HTS eBay discount price ($75), that number is almost negligible.

Metroplex was available at Costco for around $60 a few years back, then Devastator was in the same price range at another warehouse store. I paid full retail for both and don't feel slighted in the least. I had them and didn't have to go traipsing around all over creation hoping to find one for a discount or missing out on owning them altogether.
Also consider that historically, when these big-ticket items do hit the discount side, eBay is flooded with pretty cheap deals on them. May not be the actual lowest price, but they will be available for well under retail since scalpers don't sit on merchandise.

No picture of a shopping cart full of them?
    I am disappoint.

    This just pisses me off.

I never saw him any places I went to here in Phoenix AZ. and now this shit???

Ross never has crap in the ones here in Phoenix. :/

I never even got lucky enough to find a fuckin CW Devastator either back when he was out.

Oh well. no worries at this point. money saved i guess. XD

May pick this up if I see it.. But I doubt I will. This seems like ringing a dinner bell for scalpers, online shops, and some comic book shops.

    Nah, just in general. :)

    Not at all.

This happens quite often, and sure it sucks, but that's the direction the game takes once in awhile. Check out the Marvel Legends thread as a similar situation is going on in there.

Wow, that's a great discount! Even with the re-molding & new electronics, Titan Max didn't seem "new" & different enough from Metroplex to justify the full price. If he was a completely unique mold or if it had at least fully integrated his vestigial Metroplex bits more cleanly into an improved fortress mode, then I would have been more tempted to get one by now.

Ross has been somewhat of a dark horse, providing an outlet for hard-to-find figures no other stores carry. Though I've yet to find any G2 CW sets, like Menasor or Superion, I was fortunate to stumble across a AOE G1-headed Dinobot set for about $50.00 here in "Spurs Country"/San Antonio.

I honestly wouldn't find it easy to pass up a TR Fort Max at under $60.00, if I found one close to home, & if my Christmas budget would allow it. :D

Ugh...I hate hunting in all the crowds, but it might just be worth while in this case!

This is, uh, maybe not a good sign? The last year or so of $100+ items (the CW box sets, the Platinum stuff, now FM) all showing up at half-price discount may not bode well for future big ticket products.

Hooper, I wouldn't worry about it. This happens with almost every single big Transformer I can remember going all the way back to Armada Unicron. Most of them ended up on clearance somewhere, including Metroplex. It's the nature of the retail game.

wow, someone's in a pissy mood.

You wanted the toy so bad you bought it right away at full price. Which means:
    1. You were sure to have it
    2. You were able to exprience it for the past months

Those 2 points have an added cost, and you paid for it by buying the figure full price. You felt the toy was worth spending all that dough on. Others didnt and didnt care if they would never get it. Everyone votes with their wallets. If you dont feel its initial price was worth it, then dont buy it then and wait for a discount, while knowing that it might never happen and you might never own the toy.

So this is legit? Folks on Facebook are saying it's fake. I'd love to start hunting Ross stores again.
