...as if anyone who says "bay-haters" is trashing on every single person who has an issue with his work, and their issue with the constant stream of complaining is completely without merit or validity in any way

puts the price increase into perspective for me anyway ..

if he is getting 8%... that would indeed bite into either the retailer or manufacturing end.. only way to accommodate that extra slice is to increase prices..

I had been content to chalk it up to more expensive oil and transportation costs.. but now..

Hey, the man does action movies right.

I can kinda see now why Spielberg handed him the Transformers project.

Fair enough, of course it's an assumption on my part, but again, I know the "you're just another whining fan never happy with anything" sort of criticisms can fly pretty freely, and I don't want to be labeled that way just because I have some issues with the live action movie stuff so far. I mainly added my little quip about it because of the post I quoted. I guess it didn't have to be said. Any opinion about anything will possibly get contested. I just don't want to be seen as the close-minded geewunner that can't accept change.

    It's good to be king.

I admire his strong work ethic, his business acumen...but there are a thousand better directors out there.

The article mentions he cut alot of product placement deals with GM to have their cars advertised in the movie... Yeah, look how that turned out for them. Having their cars in his movie did nothing for GM. GM is bankrupt.

Funny, I`d always thought that Bay, like Lucas, was a far better Buisnessman and Producer than actual director, this ties it up nicely for me! =)

(sweet sig pic by the way!)

But if it Help Michael Bay make a better Movie 3 then I guess I will! :)

michael bay is my kinda guy. he doesn't put up with people's shit or with people's egos. he knows he's in charge and he makes stuff happen, he doesn't care who you are. he has work to do. i have tremendous respect for him.

Now that GM's bust, a deal with another company may have to be made. I reckon that the Transformers should change into electric vehicles, so whoever's making those should be approached. Autobots would probably agree that supporting repressive Middle-Eastern and other oil-based regimes isn't too good, ethically speaking. Decepticons would go for whichever technology is best for dominating the planet.

Buy him, he's awesome! The car-shell plastic perhaps feels a little cheap, and he can be a little hard to stand, but those are his only bad points imo. A perfect silver bot to replace the crap-tastic jazz mold of 07.

As for bay, 8%? Wow, lucky boy! Hopefully this fat cut will keep him on board for future TF movies. I love Michael Bays work ethic and attitude, and while i'm under no illusion that he's the best director in the world, I certainly think he's a fine choice for tranformers. He knows how to frame a beautiful action shot.

Well Tesla Motors makes the best/hottest electric cars right now but I don't know if their deal with Daimler means you'd have to have Daimler on board as well or if the film makers could just do a deal with Tesla.

Because of him he got me into collecting Transformers again. The last time I collected was back in G1.
