For what it's worth, I do genuinely like Megatron's death in TF Prime

A big part of it is due to Frank Welker's performance... Megatron's gasping, desperate breaths, practically pleading for this not to be his demise and almost whimpering. Of course he did come back but only because Unicron needed a body. But hey, this is good for what it's worth.

I generally liked this scene too, it was originally longer and involved Megs grabbing the blade and trying to tug it out of himself, but in the final episode he's just seen holding onto it after a cut. Frank did a good job.

I know people bag on Prime a lot, especially the later seasons, but I thought that scene was great. IT was a cool death and for as much as Bumblebee's resurrection can seem like kind of an ass-pull use of the Omega Lock's ill-defined magic powers, I thought his being the one to do it was a nice twist and Will Friedle's line was well done and a nice touch.

Another reason I didn't end up liking RiD, retconning Megatron ripping out his voice box. It takes away from Bumblebee's "you took my voice" quote.

Yep. I don't care for the show that much (to say the least), but I do quite like this bit. Megatron's so hyper focused on his own goals and rivalry with Optimus that he doesn't notice how many times he's ruined Bumblebee's life until he suddenly finds a sword in his chest. Megs doesn't even get any final words, no way to gain any kind of "control" of his own demise, he's just completely helpless as he loses everything.

Great death. I don't get why some people are so critical of this Megs. It's not like he's a tactical genius in most of the other incarnations. I'm also just partial to his design too.

I loved his death. I also loved that the series officially ended (don't count the followup garbage cartoon) with Megatron ending the war after experiencing oppression from Unicron. That was such a great moment.

I liked the death. The slow buildup, his grasping for breath, and the cherry ontop, Bumblebee gets his voice back. It all makes this scene feel triumphant.

It's the death I remember most vividly from Prime (even more than, say, Cliffjumper's), and I thought it was handled pretty well. I also liked that it was Bumblebee who killed Megatron rather than Prime, since it robbed Megatron of his chance to be killed by the foe he's so obsessed with.

Sure, it had some stumbles, but Prime for me is top 5.
