I'm 36 and my desire is as strong as ever. It will waiver a little every once and a while, but as some have said it depends on what else is going on in my life. But I will say the more stress I have in my life sometimes the greater urge for the hunt, just because there is such a relaxing feeling when I find a new TF I want. That feeling of looking in a store and seeing a new TF and taking it home to add to the collection. Even the ones I collect to just have to be a completest. I guess that is why I'm out of room and have tons in storage. It's time for a place to display all of them.

Another thing is it always amazes me the age of most of us.

I'm 38 and my interest in collecting TFs never really faded, just went on temporary hiatus at various times and due to various circumstances.

But some things have changed for me in regards to the hobby:

    1. I've become more selective in recent years because I know I can't afford to be a competist.

    2. I prefer loose in good condition over paying retail for anything.

    3. As I'm trying to reclaim the collection I had in the 80s, I'm finding that a lot of it was pretty crappy, weakening the nostalgic appeal. It's made me have a few minor regrets about ones I feel I overpaid for, unless they were reissues.

    4. I'm slowly selling off/trading stuff I bought duplicates of because they were either impulse buys or I thought I wanted to keep them MISB. I'd like to scale down the volume of my collection significantly to where most of it is loose items so it doesn't take up as much space.

I'll be 32 next week and I understand the dwindling factor.
I will have the Japanese G1 exclusives to keep me interested for another few years.
But as far as the newer stuff is concerned, I stick to the new MPs and the occasional Classics/Henkei.
Not to:horse: but I really feel the Movieverse is killing a lot of the passion for me...

I'm considering getting out over the next couple of years; Animated made me realize I could break my completionist streak with a lot more ease than I would have imagined... and there's so many darn things I could be doing with the money instead of buying toys.

When the time comes, I'll likely hold onto 84-85 G1, Binaltech/Alernators, Masterpiece, and a few things from the movie lines. Then going forward I plan to enjoy things vicariously through the Feedback Forum. :)

Oh, and 35 this year. Yeesh!

I've become a full-fledged collector in the last eight years or so (I'm 33) by which I mean it's my most time and money consuming hobby.

What is waning is my interest in any toylines outside of Transformers except for DCD and DCUC Batman action figures.

I'm going to be selling a lot of my superhero stuff to dive into back-collecting Classics and Universe and rounding out my Animated collection a bit.

I'm also dialing back my interest in any Movie toys that I can't convince myself work as Universe figs.

Do I ever think I'm going to stop this hobby? Not likely. It's a passion I've had my whole life.

I'm 27 and I just spent the past 3 hours listing stuff on Ebay due to being out of work. I don't know if I will get rid of my entire collection, but I anticipate cutting it down by 50%. I am not a fan of the movie-verse, and can honestly state that I will also be out of the next cartoon toy wise. There are 4 dream items that I will buy regardless IF they ever get released - Reissue G1 Fortress Maximus, Reissue G1 Skorponok, Artfire (repaint of Classics Inferno) and an honest to goodness gestalt that has individual robot and vehicle modes AND hands and feet. The first two are highly unlikely and the last two are much more likely.

I am 32 and got back into Transformers following the 2007 movie. Its gotten rather addictive for me and my wife would prefer that I sell all of my collection, since she quit her job to stay at home with our two little ones. Constant struggle with that. I would love to start collecting G1, but too expensive.

I just turned 34 and my interest overall is as large as it was when I was 9. However, my interest seem to lean toward non-mainline stuff. I only collected a bit of Animated and I can't stand the movie line (the only ones I own from ROTF are Soundwave and Sideswipe. Bludgeon and Brakedown are on my list and maybe Mindwipe and deluxe DeadEnd, but that's about it), so I go for Encore and Fan made things, along with Device Label and Masterpiece. Skywarp is next on my list I think along with everything made by FanProjects.

Late 30s, and I'm still collecting. I was never a completist, though - only picked up a couple of pieces here and there, and I'm still the same way. So I guess you could say that I'm only continuing at a low level, it's just that I've always been that way.

Regarding recent toylines and media - I really liked Animated, and although it took me a while to warm up, I've started picking up some of the Movie toys as well. I'll always have some nostalgia for G1, it's true, but I don't feel a burning need to go and track down twenty-year-old bricks just so I can say I have them. I might pick some up if I found them cheap, but I'm no completist.

I'm 28 and I'm slowing down on my collecting. I've never been a completist, but I'm a lot less of one now. I'm probably selling off a few things myself soon. Not so much short on cash, but just running out of space.

I think that with so many toys form so many generations, one should be quite content with collecting something TF related. I hate the movie lines, with a passion, yet since I am newer to the fanatical side of collecting there is a lot of toys I missed out on. I would think that even those of you who have been doing this for a long time can find pieces that you still need to make your collection what you want it to be. And if not, there's always My Little Pony's...

My interest in TF's has certainly dropped off recently. I didn't get a single Animated toy and I only have a couple of RotF figures (Ransack and Legends Sideways). I might still get HA Barricade though.

32 years of age and still going strong thanks to classics, henkei's and masterpieces. Cannot see an end of collection as of yet, although once I have all my fave G1 characters revived in the classics line, I will be pretty content.

33, Still going strong. I enjoy collecting, I enjoy the toys. Actually the only thing I'm running into as I get older in my collecting is disapointment with figures. The more involved with collecting I get the bigger the disapointment when a figure is a failure.

I'm 30, and I love collecting but things change with me. I've been back into collecting for about 3 years now, and being an adult with money, I don't feel too restricted. The thing with that is I buy the stuff out there I really like, and therefore more and more things stop appealing to me. Why buy another Bumblebee when I don't think it's as good as one I got two years ago, even if it's a different line? So, if I see a new mold I really like, I still buy it, but it happens less, which makes sense for a non completionist collector IMO.

Another very large issue with me is space. I don't mind spending the money, but these things take up serious space and I have to put limits on that. So I think its natural to slow down. I bought very little from the ROTF line and will probably only get pickier for each upcoming line.
